Trenton NJ, When Assemblyman Anthony Bucco walked to the podium to accept a Legislator of the Year award from N.J. Chamber of Commerce, his late father – Sen. Tony Bucco – was on top of his mind.

“This is a difficult night for me,” Bucco said. “When you lose somebody, you go through a series of firsts. This is my first time attending a Chamber event without my father.” Bucco, in his remarks, noted that he and his father “both thought that when a business succeeds in New Jersey, New Jersey succeeds.”

Hello Ridgewood, If you notice some lamps and lights and firecrackers tonight and tomorrow night at some of your neighbor’s homes, they are most likely celebrating the festival of lights, called Diwali. The main Diwali festival is tomorrow, Sunday, October 27th, when we lit lamps to celebrate the victory of good over evil and victory of lights over darkness. This year is special as Ridgewood schools have declared “no homework / no test” policy for this weekend

People don’t understand the Driving Force behind Towns Agreeing to these Large Apartment Buildings

Park Ridge NJ, In speaking to folks from town I’m often asked about the Sony case ( fighting to prevent 1,000 apartments being built), the building going up in the center of town and general question about development in ours and neighboring towns.

In almost ALL cases, I find that people don’t understand the driving force behind towns agreeing to these large apartment buildings. Sometimes folks don’t even know how many other towns are being forced to do it and how many have already started construction on more apartments than a town can EVER support. And I don’t blame them one bit. We’re too busy with our lives to keep up with all this stuff. Most don’t even know how many AH units FSHC is saying Park Ridge needs to add by 2025. Or what round of obligations we are in ( round 3 btw) and that there is round 4 coming in 2025.

Frankly Speaking: Gottheimer’s SALT Sham

Roadsaltimage

Frank T. Pallotta, Pallotta for Congress

Mahwah NJ, Josh Gottheimer’s song and dance is a familiar one: high tax states like New Jersey were unfairly penalized by the Republicans’ 2017 tax overhaul that capped residents’ ability to deduct their state and local taxes.

Don’t get me wrong: this was the one part of the legislation with which I didn’t fully agree. The other provisions, however, have been a boon to our national economy. Coming from the business community, I understand the competitive disadvantage our American companies faced with a high corporate tax rate, and I thought middle class families deserved more money in their pockets.
