Demarest NJ, The Academy of Holy Angels community hosted a memorable Feast Day celebration in honor of the Academy’s 142nd anniversary. Bishop Michael Saporito presided at the October 1 Liturgy, where he commissioned several new Eucharistic Ministers. He also provided a special blessing for the new AHA Middle School, which opened to Grades 6-8 on September 10.

Academy of the Holy Angels Class of 2024 Ellie Sawyer Is Working to ‘Reclam’ Barnegat Bay

Dance Camp Jump-starts the Season for Holy Angels Teams

Demarest NJ,  This summer’s Universal Dance Association Camp provided an exciting jump-start for the Academy of the Holy Angels dance teams’ 2021-22 season. Notably, this was the first event for the brand new AHA Middle School Dance Team, whose members attended the Pennsylvania-based event with the renowned varsity and junior varsity teams. 

AHA Head Dance Coach Jenny Sweet noted that each dancer learned two evaluation routines and took four master classes from professionals in the dance industry. In addition, participants took part in team-building classes and activities.

Bergen Teen Donates Handmade Hats to Valley Hospital’s NICU

Demarest  NJ, moved by the loss of her infant sister, Erin Choi decided to use her knitting skills to craft hats for babies who require a stay in intensive care. This summer, the 2021 Academy of the Holy Angels graduate presented the Valley Hospital with 40 hats made by Choi and her club, Knitting for a Kause.

Multi-sport Standout Allison Bart Receives 2021 Angel Award

Demarest NJ,  Allison Bart, a 2021 graduate of the Academy of the Holy Angels, has received the Angel Award, the most prestigious honor an AHA varsity athlete can attain. Bart’s honor, which includes a $1,500 scholarship, was announced at the Parents’ Athletic Association’s virtual spring sports recognition event on June 15. This Upper Saddle River resident was honored for her contributions to the varsity basketball, soccer, and softball teams and for her exceptional dedication, spirit, and leadership.

Holy Angels’ Class of 2021 Varsity Dancers Sign with Top Collegiate Teams

Demarest  NJ,  just weeks after reclaiming their national title, four varsity dancers from the Academy of the Holy Angels’ Class of 2021 became members of some the nation’s best collegiate dance teams. This year’s recruits are Carmela Alessio of Belleville, University of Central Florida; Tamara Kim of Demarest, Vanderbilt; Giselle Martin of Bergenfield, Rutgers University; and Valeria Pernicone of New Milford, Villanova. A signing ceremony was held at AHA on May 26.
