Fair Lawn NJ, A general contracting company based in Newark was sentenced today to five years’ probation for violating Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, leading to the death of an employee, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.

LIAKHNOVICH (DOB: 09/01/1994; single; unemployed) of 1309 River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ on charges of aggravated arson and criminal mischief. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton, and the Fair Lawn Police Department under the direction of Chief Glen Cauwels.

On September 13, at its 33rd Annual Golf Outing, Columbia Bank raised $100,000 to benefit the organization which Columbia Bank has assisted throughout the years. 144 golfers participated in the annual fundraiser which took place at North Jersey Country Club in Wayne, New Jersey.
Fair Lawn NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor office said on Friday that a Fair Lawn High School graphic arts teacher and resident was arrested on accusations she engaged in a “sexual relationship” with a student. Christine Knudsen, 44, was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday, after the New Jersey Department of Children and Families was told she had engaged in “sexual activity” with a student at her school.

The FHLBNY Small Business Recovery Grant Program is intended to support the financial security and health of workers employed by organizations that have suffered a decrease in revenue as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Fair Lawn NJ, Members of the Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue Squad were dispatched to the 3500 block of Berdan Avenue, Fair Lawn early Wednesday evening, 08/11, to assist Fair Lawn EMS personnel rescue an adult male worker who was injured after falling into an open pit at a construction site. At least two (2) ladders, heavy roping, a Stokes basket, and plenty of muscle were used to extricate the victim from the pit’s bottom in order that he could be easily transferred to a waiting ambulance. Fair Lawn Police was also on the scene of the mishap.

Fair Lawn NJ, a late Wednesday afternoon, 08/04, rollover crash with entrapment in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue, directly on the Fair Lawn-Hawthorne border, triggered a turnout of emergency responders representing several municipalities. The lone occupant of the rolled over vehicle, its adult female driver, was extricated by Fair Lawn Fire Department and Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue members and transported to a nearby hospital by members of the Hawthorne Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Her injuries appeared to have been non life threatening in nature. Fair Lawn Police, Glen Rock Police, and Hawthorne Police officers also responded to the mishap. Traffic on Lincoln Avenue between Harristown Road and Loretto Avenue was diverted while emergency crews worked.
Fair Lawn NJ, since 1958 Nabisco has been a landmark here in Fair Lawn. Generations have grown up with the smell of cookies as you drive up Rt. 208, a smell that has become a fixed memory of our town. Sadly, on July 16th, Mondelez shut down the operation of the historic factory. With that, 600 jobs are now lost.

Fair Lawn NJ, today will mark the end of an era in Fair Lawn, when Mondelēz will shut down production at the Nabisco factory for good, ending the bakery’s more than six decades in town. The closure has been underway for months, yet many in the area still feel a sense of shock.
Fair Lawn NJ, two (2) vehicles were towed in connection with a rollover crash on the entrance ramp to Route 208 northbound from Fair Lawn Avenue, Fair Lawn on Thursday afternoon, 07/15. An adult female occupant of a white colored Toyota SUV was transported by a Fair Lawn EMS ambulance to The Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Fair Lawn Police is investigating the crash, which damaged a parked vehicle as well as the Toyota. Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue and Fair Lawn Fire Department also responded to the incident. The entrance ramp was closed until the SUV could be righted and removed from the foliage.
Fair Lawn NJ, the impact of a two (2) vehicle, Monday night, 06/28, collision at the intersection of John Street and Morlott Avenue, Fair Lawn sent a black Jeep Wrangler careening off of the roadway and into a nearby single family home on John Street. Two (2) individuals were injured in the crash; they both refused ambulance transportation to a local hospital. Tow trucks were summoned to remove both wrecks. Damage to the struck home did not appear to have been significant in nature. Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue, and Fair Lawn EMS responded to the incident.
