Reader says, “The 9/11 terrorists were able to live in neighborhoods and hatch their dangerous plots because they knew neighbors ignore neighbors”

"Our Gang" aka The Little Rascals"

“The fact that neighbors are no longer neighborly, that we cannot knock on a neighbor’s door; that we do not know our neighbors is very different from many years ago when neighborhoods were friendly; times have indeed changed. The situation now is dangerous. The 9/11 terrorists were able to live in neighborhoods and hatch their dangerous plots because they knew neighbors ignore neighbors.

Also, neighbors not knowing and being unfriendly to neighbors, increases social isolation; very dangerous because teens more likely to take drugs and alcohol when they alienated, and they will feel alienated in an unfriendly neighborhood.

The above comment about hate is what America does not need. Again it stems from alienation. The comment is an example of social media bullying”

Reader says, “We are not the leaders anymore we are followers.”

cliff-with-Lemmings1

” It’s amazing that the police are stopping kids from playing music in the garage before the 10 PM rule and law. And yet they are not issuing a summons for cars that are parked overnight, very interesting someone’s not doing their job right. Who’s running this town what political party. Well we can say it’s getting sickening. The politics in the village of Ridgewood is running the town. What a disgrace. What a free-for-all. Can you imagine in five more years what’s going to happen to the village of Ridgewood my god no wonder people are selling their homes and moving down south. We are not the leaders anymore we are followers. I just don’t know who we are following? We are in a mess. “

Ridgewood NJ, the Village of Ridgewood Visioning survey will end on May 5th, 2019. The survey will provide the foundation for our new Master Plan and it is incredibly important for Village residents to add their voice and vision by taking just ten minutes to complete the survey. The Master Plan is a guidance document that sets goals, policies, and priorities for investing in the physical, economic, environmental, and social future of a community. A master plan can provide direction in terms of investing in transportation improvements and public facilities, changing zoning regulations, protecting ecologically-sensitive areas, or becoming more environmentally sustainable. Concept plans and other visuals within a master plan can demonstrate ideas and hoped-for outcomes. Importantly, the master plan is the basis for a municipality’s zoning regulations.
THE FUTURE OF RIDGEWOOD NEEDS YOUR VISION AND YOUR VOICE! Visit before May 5 and please share this important information with fellow residents.

Information: https://visionridgewood.org/

(must complete before May 5)

Here are the Results of the Visioning Questionnaire

More than 2,000 people completed the Visioning Questionnairewhich was launched in October 2018 and closed in May 2019. We spent the summer analyzing the data, which includes reading through the thousands of responses to the short answer questions. We summarized the key findings into a presentation that can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. We also compiled and analyzed the information from the Map Your Vision Tool and prepared a similar presentation that summarizes its results.

Visioning Questionnaire Summary of Results (PDF)

Map Your Vision Tool Summary of Results (PDF)

The Visioning Questionnaire Summary of Results presentation highlights the outcomes of each question. It also provides commentary about the results that includes excerpts from people’s responses to the short answer questions. The commentary ends with a series of critical Key Questions to Consider that will be discussed in detail at next month’s Visioning Workshops, which are currently scheduled for Saturday, September 21 and Saturday, September 28 at Village Hall. More details on the workshops to come shortly after you return from the Labor Day Holiday!

If you have any comments, questions, and/or reactions about either of these presentations, please send them through the Contact page.

Reader Suggests Stop Complaining and Do What You are Told

DSCF4857

” I live by the motto “if you have to ask how much, you can’t afford it.” That’s why a lot of people move to Ridgewood so the high costs keeps the less desirable people out. Stop complaining about everything and find somewhere else to complain if your taxes are going up. I have houses in Paterson and Clifton for rent if you want to live there. Plenty of people love Ridgewood.

It’s a group of people that probably haven’t lived here for many years who want to change things. I read in another post that the biggest complainer, Steve Kim, doesn’t even send his children to the Ridgewood schools. I would love to know why he chooses not to send them to Ridgewood. He wants to expose everything but yet doesn’t think the Ridgewood schools are good enough for his children. It’s bad enough that people drove Valley Hospital out. God forbid Ridgewood has 21st century technology. “

Ridgewood Police Call “Ride Out” event an unsanctioned ill advised gathering

Bike Lane Traffic Easing Ridgewood

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, in a letter Ridgewood Police Chief Jacquline Luthcke spelled out issues she had with Saturdays so called “Ride Out” .

The “Ride Out” scheduled for Saturday September 7th is being promoted as a youth lead disruption of traffic and businesses in the Central Business District of Ridgewood.

Luthcke asked parents to discourage this behavior and voiced concerns for the kids as well as residents safety.

The Ridgewood blog is far more curious which parents are behind this and who is encouraging the kids ?

Ridgewood Should Learn From Past Mistakes

Ridgewood_village_hall_flood2_themridgewoodblog

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood residents Steve Kim and Saurabh Dani continue to point out on on the Facebook page “It takes a Ridgewood Village ” ,the lack of transparency of the Board of Education . They both have raised serious concerns over plans by both the Ridgewood Library and the Ridgewood Board of Education to borrow and spend taxpayer money with little to no input from taxpayers.

Under the pretense of “surveys” where both the institutions sample residents opinions , the Ridgewood Library and the Ridgewood Board of Education move forward with previously agreed plans to borrow and spend with no weight given  to residents input.  When questioned with the simple mathematics , both institutions fall back to  name calling ,branding residents as negative ,trouble makers and dissidents. Even going as far to enlist other residents to try to silence their neighbors.
