the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Morristown NJ,  just a few decades ago New Jersey’s economy was the envy of the nation. In a new report, the Garden State Initiative offers an alternative path to restore the state’s competitiveness through tax reform that allows New Jersey’s natural attributes to outweigh its crushing tax burden.

Demand for electricity will out pace the ability to produce it . Old power generation plants ( thermal generation) are retiring at a faster rate than new plants of (intermittent and limited-duration resources ) renewable energy can replace.  Intermittent and limited-duration resources like solar cells and wind farms will take multi megawatts to replace and old school megawatt. Another words far more capacity needs to be created in renewables than exist in current generation , if we lose 40 GW of existing generation we will need 120 GW of renewables.
