Ridgewood NJ, Village of Ridgewood Residents are required to clear snow and ice on abutting sidewalks within 24 hours after the storm has passed. CBD sidewalk must be kept clear during business hours and completely cleared by 9 AM the following morning. Please remember that children are walking to schools and bus stops. Residents with corner properties are asked to provide pedestrian crossing access.

PSE&G and Orange & Rockland Prepping For Deep Freeze, High Winds ,Freezing Rain and Snow

Ridgewood NJ, in a press release PSE&G says they are prepared for the high winds, heavy rain and light snow forecast to begin after midnight through Sunday morning, particularly in northern areas of New Jersey. Sustained winds of 30 to 35 mph are expected with possible gusts up to 50 mph. These conditions may cause tree limbs to break and pull down wires, causing outages.

Reviewed techniques will include the scoop and throw method, the down and push method (AKA the plow technique), as well as the upside down scraping technique. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to enhance your snow lifting techniques without throwing your back out! He will provide the driveway to ensure your training is conducted in the most life-like situation, you only need to provide your own shovel (Ergonomically designs suggested) . NJ TRANSIT Resume Regular Weekday Schedule on Thursday, February 4, 2021

This will conclude any service adjustments resulting from the storm, putting all NJ TRANSIT bus, rail, light rail and Access Link services on full regular weekday schedules.

Remove all Ice and Snow from your Vehicle before Driving or Face Fines

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police remind residents  to remove all ice and snow from your vehicle before driving, especially from the hood, windows and roof. It’s the law in New Jersey! Motorists who fail to do so face fines of $25 to $75 for each offense, regardless of whether the ice and snow is dislodged from the vehicle.

West Trenton NJ, as of 7:00 p.m., we have responded to 661 motor vehicle crashes and 1050 motorist aids in NJSP patrolled areas since 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Motorist aids can be anything from flat tires, mechanical breakdowns, spin outs, etc. We urge residents to remain off of the roads unless you absolutely have to go out. If you must go out, please slow down and drive carefully!

Ridgewood Schools Closed Today Goes Full Remote Friday

Ridgewood NJ, Due to the inclement weather, all Ridgewood Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, December 17. No virtual classes will be held.  Due to potentially hazardous conditions related to the aftermath of the storm, Friday, December 18 will be a full day of remote instruction. Your child’s principal will send building-specific schedules.  All afterschool activities are canceled. Thank you and please stay safe and warm.

PSE&G Prepares For Approaching Nor’easter

Ridgewood NJ, Public Service Electric & Gas, New Jersey’s largest utility, is monitoring the forecast and preparing for the strong winds, heavy snow and possible flooding Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. These conditions may cause tree limbs to break and pull down wires, causing power interruptions. PSE&G has a full complement of staff ready to respond, has performed system checks on critical transmission and distribution equipment, and performed logistics checks to ensure the availability of critical materials, fuel and other supplies.
