Twp of Washington NJ, Under New Jersey’s Recycling Law, leaves must be composted. The Township’s composting facility will only accept bulk leaves, free of debris and branches. Residents are requested to place leaves at the curb for collection by the Township’s equipment in accordance with the ZONES and DATES below. CREWS WILL WORK FROM WEST TO EAST IN EACH ZONE. The second pass of each zone shall start after the completion of the first collection. All leaves are to be placed at the curb no later than December 8, 2019. Twp of Washington NJ, according to sources Saturday night in the parking lot near Food Town in Twp of Washington an alleged overdose was taking place by one or more people.
A store clerk was asked to call 911 on which there was reportable no answer? Details are fuzzy but the alert clerk called the Twp of Washington Police department directly and they responded in minutes along with Township EMS and Fire.
No information was available as to the condition of the victims but the victims were reported to be from Flordia.
TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON, BERGEN NJ, The Volunteer Ambulance Corps is proud to share with the township that the community has gained nine new EMTs, all of whom have graduated this year. This is a marked increase from 2016 when the Township gained 1 EMT and 3 EMTs in 2018.
Starting in January 2019, the Corps celebrated the graduation of EMT Lindsey M. Sirois, who quickly became very active with the Corps, from Initial Training. She was almost immediately seen on 911 calls as a member of various duty crews, and has already been previously featured in the news for her part in speaking to local Girl Scouts about the Ambulance Corps. Sirois is a senior at Westwood Regional HS, and came with prior experience as lifeguard, swim coach and instructor, positions she continues to thrive in simultaneously.
Twp. of Washington NJ, Twp of Washington Police report that a resident was the victim of the “Grandparet scam” . According to sources a 29-year-old Bornx man is faceing charges after police say he stole $9,000 from a senior citizen using a scam involving a phony car accident.
The 82-year-old victim contacted police earlier that day to report he’d received “several phone calls from an unknown person who stated his grandson was in a car accident with a pregnant woman and needed cash for medical treatment,”

The Twp of Washington Fire Department has been notified that residents of the Twp of Washington have received phone calls from someone saying that they are a member of the Fire Department and trying to solicit money.

Twp of Washington NJ, onn July 4th the Twp of Washington Fire Department responded to a hybrid car fire. Paramus Fire helped out with an assist with water.
The Garden State Parkway does not have a water source on it ( no fire hydrants ), so fire fighters rely strictly on tank water that comes on the engines.
Twp of Washington NJ, A Bergen County, New Jersey, man was arrested and charged today with distributing images of child sexual abuse, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
Jeffrey Laino, 37, of Washington Township, New Jersey, was arrested at his home. He is charged by complaint with one count of distributing child pornography. Laino made his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Cathy L. Waldor today in Newark federal court.

The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Washington Township Police Department under the direction of Chief Glenn Hooper.

Twp of Washington NJ, the Twp of Washington Fire Dept.reported that last week week, Engine 43 responded to a reported car fire on the Garden State Parkway just prior to exit 168. Upon arrival, units found a Dodge Durango fully involved. Two hose lines were stretched allowing for a quick knock down of the fire. No injuries reported and cause of the fire unknown.

The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, and the Washington Township Police Department under the direction of Chief Glenn Hooper.
Twp. of Washington NJ, A vehicle reported stolen from Hillsdale early Thursday evening, 12/27, was spotted by a Ho-Ho-Kus Police patrol officer within minutes after a radio broadcast reporting the theft. A high speed pursuit ensued into Washington Township where the vehicle crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Washington Avenue. Following a short foot pursuit, one (1) individual who had fled from the crashed vehicle was apprehended in the rear of 639 Clinton Avenue, Washington Township. The suspect was transported by a Westwood EMS ambulance to New Bridge Medical Center for treatment of a non life threatening laceration to the head. Officers from Hillsdale Police, Paramus Police, Ridgewood Police, Westwood Police, and Washington Township Police were observed assisting Ho-Ho-Kus Police at the scene. The wrecked vehicle, a 4-door Honda Accord, was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. The car had reportedly been left running with the keys in the ignition.
