The former location of Charlie Brown’s is located at 95 Linwood Avenue has a realtor sign in front that simply states “available” .The restaurant’s parent company filed for bankruptcy in November 2010, as part of a restructuring that included the closing of 47 restaurants, including 29 Charlie Brown’s locations.In 2011, a New York private-equity company agreed to pay $9.5 million to buy Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse. CB Restaurants Inc. took over 20 Charlie Brown’s restaurants, including 17 locations in New Jersey and The Office Beer Bar & Grill chain was sold to Villa Restaurant Group for $4.7 million.The restaurant chain currently has 16 operating restaurants in New Jersey and New York. At last count there are 13 locations “operating’.
Ridgewood NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of EDWARD V. ARNONE (DOB: 7/25/1971; divorced; unemployed) of 40 Johnson Avenue, Sayville, New York and LOUIS F. MORANO (DOB: 12/6/1988; single; truck driver) of 2262 Renfrew Avenue, Elmont, New York on charges of Armed Robbery, Conspiracy To Commit Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Theft By Extortion, Possession Of A Weapon For An Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession Of A Weapon, Armed Burglary, and Stalking. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Township of Washington Police Department under the direction of Chief Richard Skinner.
Paramus NJ,around 8 am this morning a small group of Black Lives Matter protesters set up signs on Linwood Avenue on the Parkway overpass on the border of Ridgewood , Twp of Washington and Paramus . The Twp. of Washington Police responded with in minutes with two police cruisers . One sign was draped over the fence for Garden State Parkway traffic to see and another large sign was facing on coming traffic .
As we have been enduring some rather stormy Summer weather, it was brought to my attention late last week by Councilman DeSena and several naturally concerned parents, that the lightning detection system at our fields are not functioning. After researching the reason for the system outage that many residents depend on for its reliability, I found that the main antenna, located at the Westwood Regional Middle School and shared with Westwood and Emerson, will continue to be inoperable for the foreseeable future due to the on-going construction at the school.

Twp of Washington NJ, A Washington Township uniformed patrol officer sustained a non life threatening shoulder injury as a result of a Monday morning, 05/11, collision in which a vehicle backing out of a driveway struck his marked police cruiser. The officer was transported by a Hillsdale BLS ambulance to the Hackensack University Medical Center North campus in nearby Westwood. Due to air bag deployment, the police cruiser, a Ford Explorer, was towed from the scene by a flatbed. Little to no damage was observed on the other vehicle involved. Police at the scene did not indicate whether any summonses were issued in connection with the incident.
Twp. Of Washington NJ, Three (3) vehicles parked in the driveway of a single family home were destroyed when a tree fell in the 200 block of Cosman Street, Washington Township on Saturday morning, 05/09. A Washington Township Police uniformed patrol officer responded to process a property damage report. The home escaped damage, with the exception of a downed telephone/cable TV/internet service line.

Twp of Washington NJ, on Good Friday April 10th ,the Washington Township Fire Department Responded to a car fire today on the Garden State Parkway Northbound just before exit 168. All occupants were out of the car and uninjured. Woodcliff Lake Fire Department assisted in the event Township Fire needed additional water as their are no fire hydrants in the Parkway.
Twp of Washington NJ, amazingly there were no serious injuries reported following the late Saturday morning, 04/04, crash of a Jeep SUV into a utility pole at the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and Washington Avenue, Washington Township. Traffic was detoured around the crash site for hours to allow utility crews safe access to the work zone. Washington Township Police, Washington Township Fire Department, and Washington Township EMS responded to the incident scene. Westwood Police provided traffic control assistance.

Twp of Washington NJ, Twp of Washington police are reporting that one person died in a crash on the Garden State Parkway on Wednesday morning.
Sang Nam, 53, of Hillsdale died in the crash when her car was struck as it sat in the express lanes at the Pascack Valley Toll Plaza in Washington Township.
The fatal crash happened around 5:53 a.m. on the Garden State Parkway southbound in Bergen County.
The left and center lanes were blocked. Traffic North of the accident was backed up during the morning commute.

The CDC does NOT deploy teams to go door to door. Residents should not let these people into their homes or speak with them. Contact Township of Washington Police Department if this activity is reported.”
New Milford Police Department is also reporting CDC scammers, “**Important Safety Precaution- Please be aware that there have been reports of individuals going door to door claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control in other parts of the state. The CDC does NOT deploy teams to go door to door. Residents should Contact Law Enforcement if this activity is reported.”
Twp.of Washington NJ, Uniformed and plainclothes police officers from Paramus Police, Ridgewood Police, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office rushed to aid Washington Township Police officers safely subdue an individual armed with two (2) knives in the rear yard of a single family home located in the 1100 block of Linwood Avenue, Washington Township on Wednesday morning, 02/26. A Washington Township EMS ambulance transported the individual to New Bridge Medical Center for evaluation. No injuries were reported in the incident, which appears to have stemmed from a domestic dispute. No word provided on the scene as to whether any criminal charges related to the knife possession or attempted assault of police officers would be filed.
