Ridgewood NJ, These are very preliminary election results. The County will be accepting ballots through May 14th, as long as they were postmarked by May 12th. Certified results will be sent by the County next week. The Ridgewood estimates as many as 500 additional ballots could have been mailed late yesterday or today .

With many police departments hit hard by coronavirus and police shootings remaining a high-profile issue in the U.S., the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2020’s Best & Worst States to Be a Police Officer.
In order to determine the best states to pursue a career in law enforcement, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 28 key indicators of police-friendliness. The data set ranges from the median income for law-enforcement officers to police deaths per 1,000 officers to state and local police-protection expenses per capita.

Ridgewood NJ, The U.S. Postal Service reported total revenue of $17.8 billion for the second quarter of fiscal 2020 (January 1, 2020 – March 31, 2020), an increase of $348 million, compared to the same period last year.
The COVID-19 pandemic, which has severely affected the U.S. economy, began to negatively affect the Postal Service during late March with declining mail volume, and the impact has continued to worsen since then. It is estimated that the COVID-19 pandemic will substantially increase the Postal Service’s net operating loss over the next eighteen months, threatening the Postal Service’s ability to operate. However, since the Postal Service began experiencing the impacts of the pandemic in mid-March, the pandemic did not have a material impact on its second quarter results, although significant impacts are expected for the remainder of the year.

TRENTON NJ, Early last month, Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation into law providing healthcare workers civil and criminal immunity from liability for certain malpractice lawsuits that allege injury or death incurred during the public health emergency. Ridgewood NJ, The opening of Graydon Pool and the Ridgewood Summer Day Camp Program will NOT happen this year. Just announced during tonight’s Village Council Meeting. UPDATE: The Summer Day Camp Program definitely won’t happen. Village Council members have requested a plan be developed to open Graydon at some point during the summer in the event Governor Murphy’s Executive Order that closed public swimming pools is lifted. As of now, Graydon can’t open because of an Executive Order banning same. Opening Graydon as a passive recreation area is also being considered, as is eliminating membership/daily pass fees for Summer Season 2020.
