Call to Open Small New Jersey Retailers for Mothers Day

It’s Time for Curbside Pickup for Retail

Ridgewood NJ,  Assemblyman Brian Bergen is calling on Gov. Phil Murphy to begin the first phase of reopening the economy by allowing non-essential businesses to get back to work with curbside pickup.

“There is no reason to delay the opening of retail business to do curbside pickup,” said Bergen (R-Morris).  “They should be allowed to do that today.  We are in a state of paralysis through analysis.”

2020 Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration Parade and Fireworks Cancelled due to COVID-19 Pandemic Concerns

Ridgewood NJ,  In a joint decision made this week, the Ridgewood Fourth of July Committee and the Village of Ridgewood announced that they will cancel the 110th annual Fourth of July Parade and the evening entertainment and fireworks display due to COVID-19 health concerns. 

The committee made the difficult decision after considering the many aspects of planning, fundraising, staffing, and executing the events amid the public health concerns and economic uncertainty of the next few months.

IMPORTANT UPDATED RIDGEWOOD ELECTION INFORMATION DUE TO COVID-19

Ridgewood NJ, All registered voters have received in the mail the Ridgewood Board of Education election ballot (to vote on the Board of Education budget and elect one Board of Education member for an unexpired 1-year term and two Board of Education members to three-year terms) and the Ridgewood Municipal election ballot  (to elect three Village Councilmembers to 4-year terms).  These elections will be a Vote by Mail election only, and there will be no voting at the polling places.  There are two separate ballots in the envelope which was sent to you, one for the Board of Education and the second one for the Village Council.  The Vote by Mail ballots must be postmarked by May 12, 2020 and received at the County by May 14, 2020.  Keeping in mind that the mail service may be slower than usual, you are encouraged to vote your ballot and mail it back in the postage paid envelope, as soon as possible so that your vote will count.

The Ridgewood Arts Foundation (RAF) hopes this note finds you and your families well, and that you are finding many artistic projects to embark upon as we are all sequestered at home. During this unprecedented time, RAF feels the obligation to help our community maintain a semblance of normalcy and routine. Therefore, we are honored to announce that we will be moving forward with our Spring 2020 scholarships and grants program for students, individual artists and arts organizations. The Spring application deadline has been extended to June 1, 2020. Middle school, high school or college students who are involved in fine or performing arts, and adult artists and/or arts organizations with a connection to Ridgewood are encouraged to apply.

All municipal Parks, Fields, and Recreational Facilities in the Village of Ridgewood Will Remain Closed

Dear Ridgewood School Community,

On April 29, 2020, Governor Murphy signed Executive Order No. 133, which allows state parks and golf courses to reopen effective at sunrise on Saturday, May 2. Additionally, county governments will have the authority to determine whether county parks will be open or remain closed. Social distancing measures continue to be in effect for these outdoor spaces, and individuals are encouraged to wear a mask. The Executive Order and information about social distancing policies and specific areas/facilities that remain closed at state parks and forests can be found at https://www.nj.gov/governor/news/news/562020/approved/20200429c.shtml.
