Based on previous building projects managed by the Village ($500K Golden commodes anyone? ) this garage project will be delayed repeatedly, suffer numerous expensive “change orders”, and likely cost $20+ million all in by the time its ready (40% of annual municipal budget).It will never pay for itself, guaranteed. Right as interest rates spike and the Village’s S&P AAA rating on our municipal debt is downgraded. Can you say large municipal debt and interest expense increases?

Ridgewood NJ, on Sunday 11/18/2018: Ridgewood Fire fighter “B” Shift assisting with a Helicopter Landing at Benjamin Franklin Middle School along with Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Emergency Services. It was a demonstration for Ridgewood Teens in Emergency Services student volunteers.

A rent that the village council wants to nearly double which was the whole reason to build the garage, increase the tax haul from the CBD. Only the ‘no’ voters did the math.

STERLING FOREST NJ, according to a recent obituary Richard “Rick” M. Agnello, Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on 11/6/2018. Born in Paterson and raised in Glen Rock, Rick is a graduate of Glen Rock HS. Upon graduating, he served in the National Guard. Rick owned and operated Town Garage in Ridgewood with his father and brother. Rick had an immense passion for spending time with family/friends, music, cars, motorcycles, boats and spending time at Cape Cod and Greenwood Lake. Rick is survived by his loving children, Keri (Brendan), Eric (Angela), and Craig (Judi). He adored his two grandsons,Ash and Liam.

Everyone should be focused on the rates required in the future to pay the debt service on the garage. Meter rates will be too high, the majority of retail businesses in town will suffer only a few nearby restaurants will benefit. A pending fiscal disaster, being backstopped by residents.
The 2-1 YES vote did not sufficiently outline the costs of the garage. The NO voters likely considered the costs. The majority of the YES voters thought it was “free”, of would be totally self sustaining.

Chief Tony Lillo stated that “our line officers reached out to additional volunteers in advance of the storm which resulted in us staffing 4 Emergency Vehicles with over 1 dozen volunteers. There were multiple EMS calls and also traffic assistance calls during the intensity of the storm”, said Chief Tony Lillo. “ The Ridgewood Emergency Services are on call, 24/7, 365 days a year, no matter what the weather brings, we are ready to serve,” Chief Lillo concluded.
