Can we get the landscaper fees reimbursed when the town does not come close to meeting their own published schedules? Weather events happen, build some contingency in the schedule or a recovery plan. This is not rocket science.
The town missing dates is ignored, if a resident does it they get a hefty fine. Town missing dates requires added resident efforts and or landscaper costs. It also creates a driving hazard for extended periods of time
For us, this is our last winter, Ridgewood has beat us at every level from leaves to parking fees, to obscene school costs, and just amateurs running the programs that are supposed to serve the residents. Too bad

Not TRUE. I was told that if someone, say a child, puts in Google the word “breast,” say the child is wanting to find out about his mother’s breast cancer, he will get porno links. Those he may investigate, not knowing what they are. Many other words LEAD to porn. As I said, the best way to avoid the negative effects of internet, is to do what Bill Gates does with his school children: no internet. DUH. By the time a kid is a senior in high school he/she can pick up the internet then , very quickly. But gee whiz, guys, how did Einstein and company invent all our modern miracles without the Internet. How did Jonas Salk discover the vaccine that eliminated polio without the internet. . I bet the internet weakens or does eye damage too. Yes there are some advantages, but more negatives by far. Going to library to look something up in a book or Encyclopedia was far better way of learning. I would hazard a bet that you Remembered the material better too. Why. Because for one your body had to move. Muscle to brain connection. And you didn’t read a lot of other stuff afterward. Your brain wasn’t over whelmed. You opened the encyclopedia, wrote it down, and then went on to something else in life, and your brain remembered it. The internet leads to over consumption, buying crap you don’t need , depleting the environment. I mean , hey, your sittin on your fat ass, surfin, then you get bored and sluggish and then BUY stuff on Amazon etc. And then you open the crap packages. And then you get bored and then the cycle continues. Walkin to the library, openin the encyclopedia with your hands and arms. Readin letters that are comfortable for your eyes, writing down , walkin home, and then maybe playin a ball game or sompin. Now that is healthy livin. The internet livin is toxic.

Ridgewood NJ, Shoppers across the U.S. are getting ready to Shop Small on Small Business Saturday, celebrated this year on November 24th, and their local economic impact could be significant. According to the new Small Business Economic Impact Study from American Express, an average two-thirds ($0.67) of every dollar spent at a small business stays in the local community.
The Ridgewood Guild will also be hosting it’s 9th Annual Winterfest! The fun starts at 12:00 noon .

The insurance company made the village whole thanks to the absured General liability premium we pay with our tax dollars. Mr. Rica has had that loss subrogated to him by the villages carrier to recover the agreed 230K . And yes, going back to when the coin count room was in the basement of Citizens First inventory was stolen on a daily basis. I witnessed it when I worked there. Powerful attorney? Please. Any real estate attorney could run circles around the representation the village puts forward. The council wanted this to go away as quickly as possible and the only way that happens is when you fold. And when you do that its gonna cost ya.

Maybe YOU continued to walk into that ballot box and voted the party line because quite frankly like all good liberal dolts you simply can’t think on your own. And yes, your thinking along that line just put one of Hudson Counties finest criminals back in office. And yes the rest of the country looks at us and laughs…why not? Stupid is what stupid does. And taxing pension checks is NOT going to solve the problem of union malfeasance and corrupt government officials. The process of exodus has already started and will only excelerate as they way we work continues to change. Remember, nobody wants to work in NYC either so that only compounds the exit process. I’ll be gone come Feburary. We’ll leave here and let the people who started and supported this mess wallow in its remains. Good luck with that.

Ridgewood NJ, Ars Musica Chorale continues its 53rd season with its signature An Ars Musica Holiday featuring the voices of the New Jersey State Children’s Chorus and the Ars Musica Brass and Percussion Ensemble. The performance will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ridgewood, New Jersey.
So did Tommy “coin boy” Rica ever even pay the Village back the $230,000 he’d agreed to as part of his plea conviction in 2014? The forensic accountant said more like $850,000 was stolen, so where is the other $620,000? And why weren’t his supervisor Chris Rutishsuser or the the cops who saw Tommy boy coming and going from the room in their part of the building with 50lb coin bags ever implicated? Was this mob related ? James, what is the update?
So far we have about $13mn in debt obligations related to parking garage bonding’s… given the historical pattern of delays, expensive ‘change orders’, and cost overruns associated with any project the Village has financed ($500K golden toilet anyone?), my guess is this will come in over $20 million and run at an operating loss of more than $1 million annually. And that’s without ‘coin boy’ and his enablers stealing our quarters. All this, just as interest rates spike. It adds up to more financial lunacy from the Village, and taxpayers get screwed again.
I’ve lived here since 1969. I won’t waste money on parking and a potential ticket to go in a store or post office. I go to post offices in other towns and if I need to shop it’s not here. How can the stores compete the malls where there is a better selection and free parking. I’d like to know what net amount th village even realize from the meter revenue.
By the time you add in costs of equipment , employees, pensions, theft of quarters, it’s minuscule.. All it does is chase away shoppers, just as taxes chase people out of NJ.
Years ago shopkeepers were able to give tokens out so the shoppers didn’t have to pay. But that’s not possible now… Try something unique….remove the meters. Overtime parking is easily enforced chalking tires as is done elsewhere. Triple the fines for repeat parking in order to stop store employees from abusing parking. Problem solved.
