Ridgewood NJ, Village of Ridgewood Mayor Hache holds “Meet the Mayor” every 2nd Saturday of the month, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Caucus Room, on the 4th floor of Village Hall. The next time will be November 10th. Please call the Village Clerk’s Office, at 201-670-5500 ext. 206 to make an appointment. You may also drop in, however, if you do so, you will be taken after those with appointments. If no appointments are made, “Meet the Mayor” will be cancelled for that month. Please check the Village website each month, for updates on this event.

It is almost hard to believe that Ridgewood (and neighboring towns) have residents with sub zero brains–at least as far as preventing robbery. What is so hard to understand about the above placard? It is composed of 4 letter words LOCK, TAKE KEYS. If we actually have residents that can’t understand such simple terms, Ridgewood’s education is in even worse trouble than we thought.

Ridgewood NJ,Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in Ridgewood, will be hosting its annual youth group frozen turkey drive .The group will be collecting frozen turkeys (25lbs or LESS please) for the Fr. English Food Pantry in Paterson. They will also take any other non-perishable food items as well on Saturday, November 10th – 9AM to 12Noon ,at OLMC Church Parking Lot – School Side

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police report that a Wickham Way resident reported being the victim of a burglary and theft on October 22nd. The victim reported two unlocked vehicles which were parked in the driveway were entered during the overnight hours and approximately $300 in cash was removed. The Ridgewood Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

Ridgewood NJ, a tree planning was held at Graydon Pool around 4:30 pm Wednesday October 24th. The event was held out by the island at the Graydon Pool Facility. Earlier this year the so called “Money Tree” had to be cut down due ill health .At the time many long time residents thought it spelled doom for the Village . Mayor Ramon Hache planted a new ‘Money Tree” and resident hope it will be as generous as the first.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police report that a Lakeview Drive resident reported she is the victim of endangering the welfare on October 18th. The victim reported she recently rented a residence and the furnace was deemed condemned in 2015. She stated the landlord had knowledge of this condition but turned the furnace on which endangered herself and her family. The victim signed a criminal complaint against the landlord which was forwarded to the Ridgewood Municipal Court for review.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police report that on October 21st a reported stolen trailer was located on Grove Street at a construction site by the victim. The victim reported the trailer was stolen in Paramus, N.J. in 2017 and documented as a stolen vehicle. Patrol confirmed the vehicle was stolen and impounded the trailer pending further investigation. The Ridgewood Detective Bureau investigated the incident and charged a 57 year-old male from North Bergen, N.J. with receiving stolen property. The arrestee was served with a criminal complaint, advised of the pending court date and released.

What is the “Senior Freeze” program?
It offers a limited reimbursement for property taxes or mobile home site fees paid by eligible Senior Citizens & Disabled residents on their primary residences.
It is exceedingly important to take advantage of programs like Senior Freeze which may offer some financial relief. This is especially true for families/individuals on fixed or limited incomes. Ridgewood NJ, as previously reported on this blog the Ridgewood police report that on October 16th an East Glen Avenue resident responded to Ridgewood Police Headquarters to report a fraud. The victim reported an envelope containing a check was placed in a mailbox on East Glen Avenue but never arrived at the intended destination. The victim later discovered the check had been cashed unlawfully without her consent. The victim notified her bank and the account was closed.
