Ridgewood Water is well managed and they are responding to unfunded mandates. Did you not tune in and note that for the past few years they have run the water company well below their own projections and below the operating expenses of similar public and private water companies? The presentation should be online. There is a well directly next to the house on Goffle so my guess is the need the space for additional pumping or treatment. Buying the Elks and moving the Water staff of Village Hall out gives the RPD the office space they need in Village Hall. It also will consolidate water staff for better efficiency and oversight. Buying up the property directly next to the municipal complex, regardless of the future occupants, makes sense in my opinion. It will address any future needs that arise. To not buy it would be shortsighted; I hate additional spending (I am vehemently opposed to the mega-garage) but these purchases make sense.
People keep voting with the idea of compassion but the ‘idea’ of compassion doesn’t rest in the minds and hearts of those who will take advantage of the good hard working American citizens. They won’t wise up and their children and grandchildren will suffer for it….we are not on a good path when we allow anyone who wants to be here to be here just because they are more disadvantaged or have a sad story. Many American citizens have a sad story and we should be making sure they are taken care of first and foremost and those who enter legally are welcome. If we didn’t give unearned benefits to those who just touched our border illegally five minutes ago, we could take care of our poor, disabled, elderly and veterans. What a concept?

Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Village Council has finalized the purchase of the old Elks lodge by Ridgewood Water on North Maple next to Ridgewood Public Library and Village Hall . This ends a long saga involving the sad demise of the Ridgewood Elks . The Elks lodge was closed in 2016 and was contested by the local Elks leadership which in the end failed to resurrect the lodge.

Expect more people to turn careless as RW evolves into a full scale Hackensack. RW management will make sure to accelerate this transformation. Even myself who am super neighborhood friendly and squeaky clean have started to not pay attention anymore. Have you see how sanitation does not pick up your garbage unless your bin is on the curb?
BUT at least Mr Mayor paid for a corner in NY Post to show the world that RW is the gem of Bergen County. Mayor is in real estate so he knows where to advertise. We’re so lucky.

Well as a village tax payer for 40 years the village in the past 20 years used to give away when you compost and woodchips for free and delivery call for free. But dad have stopped. But that’s OK I understand . I was told that they have a buyer for all of the compost and wood chips Which is a good thing. So I think we could do the same with the wood , sell it and make money, it’s a no brainer .

Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Guild International Film Festival is in its ninth year of celebrating excellence in US and International independent films.
Hate to be a party pooper, but virtually nothing Government does is FREE.
There was certainly a cost for the staff to prepare the firewood.
If the rational was to reduce dumping costs, perhaps that could have been accomplished by selling the wood to a third party.
“My being conscientious about not placing leaves in street until placement day does not go unpunished.
On my block area A in front of Benjamin Franklin Middle School everyone has put their leaves out before the next placement date which is Nov. 23. Leaves blow in front of my driveway making a big mess.

How much is this really saving the taxpayers. Because when you add in the labor rate & How much the maintenance for equipment is . It’s a little bit. Some think this is more about putting a feather in some ones hat. This is nothing new in thinking.Many other towns cut the tree down where it is , and stacked up and left on curb line for the residence to take. This is all well and good as long as it doesn’t take away from all the other responsibilities the parks. And being short on staff well At times you need to look at the big picture. Looks good on paper doesn’t it.

Enjoy the new Banana Republic state of NJ. Thank you Murphy and especially the well educated voters of Ridgewood who overwhelmingly voted for a sanctuary state. I am so curious to know if this criminal hurt one of their family members how would they feel about these policies and ICE now. Anyone here cares to chip in? I myself and family would never vote for someone (be it left or right) who would impose policies that put my family and other people at risk just to be politically correct. Illegals and especially the violent ones need to be punished for their crime and then deported. I also believe that these policies are emboldening criminals to commit burglaries anywhere including the latest rush in our town.
