Wood-Ridge NJ, Wood-Ridge Police Department reminds everyone to be on alert! With the holiday season approaching, “porch pirates” are out more than ever due to the increase in deliveries around town. Some tips for preventing these kinds of theft include: choose in store pickup, bring your packages inside as soon as possible, have a visible security camera and/or video doorbell. If you see someone actively stealing a package… DO NOT confront them. Call police, while obtaining as much of a description as possible including clothing they’re wearing, make/model/color of vehicle they’re using, direction they headed after the theft. Also, we cannot say this enough… make sure your vehicle doors are locked, key fob is not left inside, and valuables are out of sight.
