Palisade Park NJ, following a filed complaint and the Mayor being requested to leave a polling location by the Board of Elections chairman on election day, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s office will investigate the mayor’s actions.
Mayor Chong “Paul” Kim, who was supporting Democratic council candidate Suk “John” Min on November 7, faced allegations related to his conduct at the Senior Center, where he serves as the director.
The complaint detailed instances of the mayor entering a polling booth, assisting voters outside the booth while conversing in Korean, distributing campaign materials within the polling location, and engaging in confrontations with poll workers.
Richard Miller, the Board of Elections Chairman, addressed issues with the mayor on two occasions at the Palisades Park senior center. Following a warning on the first visit, the mayor was ultimately asked to leave during the second visit. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s office will now examine these incidents further.
