Ridgewood NJ, according to the CDC the people at the highest risk to have serious COVID-19 illness.

Older adults and people who have severe chronic medical conditions like heart, lung or kidney disease seem to be at higher risk for more serious COVID-19 illness. Early data suggest older people are twice as likely to have serious COVID-19 illness. This may be because:

  • As people age, their immune systems change, making it harder for their body to fight off diseases and infection.
  • Many older adults are also more likely to have underlying health conditions that make it harder to cope with and recover from illness.

If a COVID-19 outbreak happens in your community, it could last for a long time. Depending on the severity of the outbreak, public health officials may recommend community actions to reduce exposures to COVID-19. These actions can slow the spread and reduce the impact of disease.

If you are at increased risk for COVID-19 complications due to age or because you have a severe underlying medical condition, it is especially important for you to take actions to reduce your risk of exposure.

  1. I’m not usually one to panic, but I’m a 54 year old asthmatic and I work in a very busy Opthamology office. The doctor I work for see 50 patients on an average day. I use disinfectant wipes all day long on just about everything, but I am terrified that I’m going to become severely ill.

  2. Open up the windows may help. Change the air in the room.

  3. Well can it kill us or not … I am 59 no underline heath issues . But a thyroid problem.. how sick can ya get

  4. I’m 65, diagnosed 2 years ago with COPD but no major complications, had my flu shot. Other than basic good hygiene, and being cautious when I go out, should I be overly concerned?

  5. I have underlined medical issues, lupus. diabetic. have had 2 strokes. dbl pneumonia before 2010. I am very clean, and cautious. I am very careful because I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. right now I have a fractured right foot. My furbaby keeps me comfortable and loves me. I try not to put to much emphasis on this pandemic. My mom has enough fear for all of us. She has COPD. We all need to live but not in fear. Live🙏💙❤🙏
