  1. So let me get this straight. The Borough of Glen Rock sues the Village of Ridgewood over water rates and now the Village of Ridgewood is providing free fire protection services to the Borough of Glen Rock? Huh? Free fire protection services? Free as in paid for by taxpayers from the Village of Ridgewood? WTH? Never, ever discussed at an open public meeting of the Village Council. Heather? Hello Heather? What’s up Heather?

  2. Time for this Village Manager to go. Too many screw ups lately.

    1. she drives the fire truck now?

  3. Next the Fire Chief comes to the Council for more equipment and manpower because they are coming Glen Rock

  4. Fortunately she doesn’t drive a fire truck. But she does make deals that she should not be making without approval.

  5. Ridgewood taxpayers need to stay alert on this issue. Look what happened when Montclair made a deal to provide fire protection services to nearby Glen Ridge. Montclair’s taxpayers got screwed big time.

  6. So Heather, have you told the mayor and council what you did yet?

  7. Come on, people. Surely you’ve all heard of “mutual Aid”? If it was one of our schools in danger, Glen Rock, and others, would be there. Hackensack is not our closest hospital but they have an ambulance standing by for “our” fireworks.

  8. Is Glen Rock paying for the damages to our SUV?

  9. This goes above and beyond “mutual Aid.” It is regular daytime response to incidents at commercial/multi unit residential buildings.

  10. 8:46 – sure mutual aid, completely support that. In an emergency, everyone pitches in immediately. No questions asked. But for my tax dollars to finance a paid fire department, and then for us to be over in Glen Rock at all times, well this is insanity.

  11. “Is Glen Rock paying for the damages to our SUV?”.
    .
Why should they?? We are Rich and Stupid.
    .

  12. If we are truly covering Glen Rock’s daytime calls on a regular basis, we should charge a fee. They chose to have a volunteer fire department to help keep their taxes down. But if they are now doing that and still expect calls to be answered by Ridgewood… we should either put a stop to all but real emergencies, or charge. Our Fire people have enough to do with all the Ridgewood calls.

  13. Yes. We are truly covering Glen Rock for all fire department responses to commercial/multi family residential/governmental buildings during weekday daytime hours. It’s a fact Jack.

  14. One of the benefits of Ridgewood is a paid Fire Department. Most towns only have volunteer FD’s. And this adds to our taxes. You hope you never need them, but if you do be grateful. Now please tell me why, barring an emergency, we have to be covering Glen Rock????

  15. OMG 12:28 your everywhere!
As I’m wisting through this blog I keep running into you…love it!
