In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, Mahwah Recreation is calling on the community to show off their hometown pride. This is your chance to turn your front porch or storefront into a patriotic masterpiece—but you have to act fast. Registration officially closes this Friday, May 15!
How to Join the Celebration
Participating is easy, and it’s a fantastic way to bring the neighborhood together. Here is your step-by-step guide to the contest:

Register: Sign up via Mahwah’s Capturepoint portal by the end of the day, Friday, May 15.

Decorate: Get your flags, lights, and bunting ready! All displays must be finished by May 22.

Submit: Send photos of your hard work to Mary Beth Duffy at mduffy@mahwahtwp.org by the May 22 deadline.

Community Spirit on Display
Once the entries are in, the town will share a digital map of all participating homes and businesses on social media. This allows the entire community to take a self-guided tour and enjoy the festive atmosphere leading up to the holiday.
Judging will take place on July 1, with the grand winners announced on Independence Day (July 4). Don’t miss out on being part of Mahwah’s historic tribute to the USA!
