Ridgewood Nj, after promising residents the retention of Ridgewood Emergency Services during the contentious Village council election and lambasting Mayor Kundsen over the discontinuation of the per diem program , the new council has scheduled Ridgewood Emergency Services to begin its merger with Ridgewood Fire Department on January 1st. Once again voting has consequences .
The Ridgewood blog had been reporting on the Fire Departments move to get control over emergency services since February of 2021.
The whole move turned into a massive public relation fumble by Ridgewood EMS assisted by some overzealous residents who thought is a good idea to go on attacking Mayor Knudsen , the Ridgewood Fire Department and any resident who questioned their antics instead of promoting the virtues of Ridgewood EMS.

The Council should give the parking garage to the Fire Dept maybe the can fill it up.
Its not just the ambulance service but the division of EMS that is responsible for assisting the police in closing the roads and special events like the care show,Ridgewood runand downtown for the holidays to name a few. What a power grab by the FD.
Um… the new Council hasn’t formed yet. This was all set into motion by the outgoing Council.
This is classic FD operating procedures.
It’s the only way they can justify their existence hence vangoor weaseling his way on the council to oversee its implementation.
Ridgewood residents are suckers of the highest degree.
Van Goor is not on the council
While they are cleaning house maybe the council should sell the water dept.
Hold up?! The old council couldn’t manage getting simple bills paid and its the new council fault for trying to stop the blood letting? Three cheers to them catching it and getting our hard earned money back! Bye, bye Karen – I mean Susan.
Time to clean house. Top management need to go. They are all dirty. This new council and mayor better take care of this b, s . If not we will vote them out.
I thought the new Council members were not sworn in until today? How could they activate these new actions before they were given any powers? Are you sure this wasn’t the old Council going out in flaming glory as their last move? Like the President pardoning people?
” Are you sure this wasn’t the old Council going out in flaming ” There is only one person that was not elected. So your tell me that the one outgoing council member did all this and the two new council members were not consulted and gave their blessing. Please let me sell you a bridge in Brooklyn

Revenge for Linda Scarpa’s constant belittling of Mayor Susan Knudsen.
I don’t blame the mayor and council for financial disaster, that’s fill the troll for you. The whole town is mismanaged they lost all experience.
Ridgewood, a village in turmoil.
So who will be the new Mayor? Pam?
Mr. Pink jacket id the next Mayor.
Ugh. I liken him to the lying LI congressman, the guy who lied about his credentials to get elected. .Paul’s . . . “Im a lawyer” but fails to mention he does not have a license, hasn’t practiced in 30 years, and only practiced very briefly. More like ” I make sucky gyros” Not to mention Wietz, who claimed.to have “.law enforcement experience”.because he worked white collar crimes in a DA’s office. And winocrad who astounds with “alternative facts.”. Of the four,.I was hoping for Pam. .
Just raise property taxes to cover whatever the cost is.
Its not over before its over. It might help is the author of this piece ….JAMES would do some actual investigation before posting down right lies. This change should NEVER be allowed, period. The Village of Ridgewood deserves to know how emergency services will be hindered. This was a poor idea and will cost the Village tons more money.
If it is tons of money lets pay in pennies to minimize the spend!
