Waldwick NJ , a young male driver and his passenger escaped injury when the driver’s 4-door BMW sedan slammed into a utility pole and two (2) street signs on Route 17 southbound at Summit Avenue, Waldwick on Thursday afternoon, 03/17. Waldwick Police responded to the incident, which did not hamper traffic flow on either side of Route 17. A flatbed tow truck removed the heavily damaged sedan from the scene. Police on location did not indicate what may have caused the crash.
The pole looks ok…the car, not so much.
How is a person supposed to drive safely if these telephone poles jump out in front of them unexpectedly

I’m surprised more accidents don’t occur in that section of Rt. 17. It’s a speed zone.
