Ridgewood NJ, Bird flu is driving egg prices higher and the egg shortage has people scrambling . Nationally, the poultry industry lost around 36 million hens from February through September from the avian flu. Both demand and retail prices are higher than in previous years because of inflation, said Egg-News.com. Unseasonably high prices are expected to continue through fall and decline as flocks are restocked.
According to Egg-News.com, The current Administration came into office with the preconceived perception that “small scale” farmers and contractors were subject to anticompetitive practices and exploitation. The Secretary of the USDA spoke of radical restructuring of the agro-economy after nomination. The actions of the USDA, supported by the DOJ, confirmed pre-election rhetoric that will ultimately be deleterious to the National food supply should intentions become reality. In pursuit of a solution to a nonexistent problem, USDA intends issuing rules to “re-establish” competitive and market integrity under the Packers and Stockyards Act and to eliminate unproven “undue prejudice, unjust discrimination and deception”.

Abundant and fresher at Abma’s in Wyckoff and Goffle Road Poultry Farm in Hawthorne as well as farmers markets.
Stop and Shop has gotten worse recently since some of the improvements.
More items out of stock. Fewer items and less stock of each item. It’s not all supply chain, as other supermarkets are better stocked. Anybody else notice that?

Stop & Shop in Ridgewood is a filthy store. Almost as bad as the one that was shut down in Paramus.
