Fire Fighters Rescue Occupant in Teaneck Apartment Fire

Teaneck NJ, on January 2nd, members of the Teaneck Fire Department 2nd Platoon responded to 34 State Street, on a reported fire on the 5th floor, with a possible occupant still inside. First arriving units were able to confirm no occupants were in the apartment.
Because of the high life safety risk, Englewood Fire and City of Hackensack Fire Department Ladders were requested to the scene. Members put the aerial to the roof to assist with ventilating the top floor fire. Englewood Fire Truck 2 and Car 4 operated for approximately one hour.

Bergenfield Volunteer Fire Dept., Bogota Fire Department and Ridgefield Park Volunteer Fire Department covered the Township of Teaneck.
Upon investigation, an electrical appliance fire was found and kept contained to the appliance.
Teaneck Police Department and Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps were also on scene.
