Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit Investigating a Bogota Fatal Fire

Bogota NJ, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Bogota Police Department are investigating a fatal fire that occurred at 320 River Road, Bogota, on Saturday, November 18, 2023. At approximately 5:59 a.m., the Bogota Police Department received a report of a fire at 320 River Road. Police officers responded along with the Bogota Fire Department and neighboring fire departments. First responders located an unconscious male victim inside the residence, who was later pronounced deceased at Hackensack University Medical Center. A female victim escaped from the residence prior to the arrival of police and fire personnel. She was evaluated on scene by emergency medical services and declined transport to a hospital.

Early Morning House Fire in Bogota Leaves One Man Dead

Bogota NJ, early on Saturday morning, a fatal fire occurred in New Jersey, claiming the life of one individual. The blaze erupted at a residence on 320 River Road in Bogota at approximately 6 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders discovered an unconscious male victim inside the home, who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed, but Mayor Chris Kelemen described him as “a very nice gentleman who was very kind and extremely proud of his family and the country.” A second person managed to escape before emergency personnel arrived, declining hospital transport after evaluation at the scene. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Fire Fighters Rescue Occupant in Teaneck Apartment Fire

Teaneck NJ, on January 2nd, members of the Teaneck Fire Department 2nd Platoon responded to 34 State Street, on a reported fire on the 5th floor, with a possible occupant still inside. First arriving units were able to confirm no occupants were in the apartment.
Because of the high life safety risk, Englewood Fire and City of Hackensack Fire Department Ladders were requested to the scene. Members put the aerial to the roof to assist with ventilating the top floor fire. Englewood Fire Truck 2 and Car 4 operated for approximately one hour.

Ridgefield Park NJ, a late Friday morning, 11/04, motor vehicle crash in the local lanes of Route 80 westbound at Mile Marker 67.0 in Ridgefield Park resulted in the temporary closure of all westbound local lanes while emergency crews worked to aid crash victims and to position a flatbed tow truck to remove a heavily damaged SUV.

Sunday Moring Fire in Hackensack Leaves One Firefighter and One occupant Injured

Hackensack NJ, on Sunday April 3rd @08:11 Hackensack Fire Desk received a 911 call reporting a fire at 99  Fair Street. While companies were responding Deputy 4 reported smoke from a distance and requested a 2nd alarm. Upon arrival companies were met with heavy smoke and fire conditions on the 2nd floor of the home with fire extending into the attic. Companies put several handlines in service to begin knocking down fire on the 2nd floor and to protect the house next door. Ladder 1 and rescue 1 conducted searches and began to open up the 2nd floor ceilings to gain access to the attic. Fire extended to the attic area due to limited access.
