The 2022 proposed so called “zero budget” holds the line on taxes and comes with no increase on the County portion of resident tax bills in 2022. On a home assessed at $500,000, the proposed budget would actually decrease the Bergen County portion of property taxes by $17.75.”

Linda Barba who is running for Bergen County Executive rebutted the election year “good news” saying. ” Current County Exec Pothole Jim Tedesco’s smoke and mirror show: proposing minor decrease in budget yet the REALITY IS: County 2022 budget is $611 million with a tremendous infusion of Fed subsidy. 2018 budget $542 million. Basically a $70 million dollar increase in spending in 4 years!”

      1.4ml to bonuses 😡

      1. Since when is this blog biased, supporting an experienced candidate who was officially voted out by Bergen County Republican Organization? I know you have a lot of restaurants in that town, but a food critic doesn’t account for making a County Executive and balancing a Bergen County budget… especially when all they can do is sling mud at real candidates! I worked in a department store too (when I was 15), however I wasn’t fired even then! Be careful who you back, this is a serious position and calls for a serious candidate! VOTE COLUMN 2-Caliguire

  2. “Since when is this blog biased”

    You must be new here.
