Ridgewood NJ, “climate change” has produced a political divide in voter reaction to the recent wildfire that devastated the Hawaiian island of Maui.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 47% of Likely U.S. voters believe it is likely that climate change caused the Maui wildfire, including 26% who think it’s Very Likely. Forty-five percent (45%) say it’s not likely the wildfire was caused by climate change, including 27% who believe it is Not At All Likely. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

What do we know about the fires in Hawaii, which have killed at least 114 people and led to hundreds more, including children, going missing?

1) For one, We know that Hawaiian Electric was aware of the threat of its power lines creating wildfires in 2019 and that, sure enough, power lines most likely caused the fires.

2)We also know that Hawaiian Electric spent most of its resources on meeting the Democratic government’s renewable energy mandates. We know that the emergency official who made the call not to sound the emergency sirens to make residents aware of the fire had no background in disaster response and that residents did not receive the text or radio/television alerts that the government sent out instead of the sirens.

3) We know that that official has since resigned. We know that another official waited more than five hours to release water to help quell the fires. That official wanted water allocation discussions to focus on “true conversations about equity.” He was then transferred to another position rather than being fired for incompetence.

To conclude , we have a fire threat that has been known for years, an electric company that was focused on Democratic renewable energy dreams instead of fire management, and incompetent officials who botched the emergency alerts and the release of water. Who knew that climate change also caused human incompetence at every level of Hawaii’s emergency services and electricity utilities?

  1. They are overplaying their hand in every way. Every weather event is now evidence of their disproven theory which they had to rename “climate change” from “global warming.” They arrest the only president in the last 30 years who hasn’t started a war on a state charge. He turns around and posts the mug shot on his campaign site and sees a bump in the polls. Fox fires Tucker and he trounces them on debate night. You can only underestimate the public’s intelligence so far before you force them to face their cognitive dissonance. The pendulum is turning but look out, a new variant of the flu is out in time for the next election cycle.

  2. Climate change? If you believe that, it may be time to sacrifice a few virgins to please the gods.

  3. Power lines started it

  4. Some liberal nut job was paid to start that fire.
