Gun Point Carjacking in Paramus at Garden State Plaza

Paramus NJ, a vehicle stolen in what police are calling a “carjacking” outside the Garden State Plaza mall has been located in Jersey City, officials said.

The Paramus police responded to the Garden State Plaza on Tuesday after 9 p.m. on reports of the carjacking . Two Jersey City men, both 30, who said they were the victims. The men reported that when they exited the mall they observed a man sitting on a light post stanchion near their vehicle. When they got to their vehicle, the suspect, who hasn’t been identified, ran over to the car and pulled a black handgun, police said, demanding the keys and eventually fleeing in the car.

Paramus police gave the following description :

“The suspect is described as a male black, thin build, approximately 6-3 in height, wearing a black sweat shirt and grey sweatpants. The suspect also had a black color face mask.”

Paramus police, with assistance from the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Task Force, recovered the stolen car in Jersey City, and they’ve also seized another vehicle that was involved in the carjacking, officials said. Detectives from the Paramus Police Department and New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Task Force are currently investigating the incident.
