Hasbrouck Heights NJ, late last night, the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department faced a critical situation when a call came in reporting heavy smoke on the second floor of an apartment building on Charlton Avenue.
The alarm sounded at 11 p.m., and Chiefs 60, 61, and 62 were among the first to arrive, quickly confirming a working fire with reports of individuals trapped inside the building. The department acted swiftly, deploying teams and coordinating with mutual aid to tackle the blaze.
A Team Effort to Contain the Fire
- Engine 2: Crews stretched a hose line to the second floor to suppress the flames.
- Ladder 1: Conducted a primary search of the apartment to ensure the safety of any potential occupants.
- Squad 1: Worked alongside mutual aid teams to ventilate the building and perform overhauling, ensuring any remaining fire hazards were fully extinguished.
Thanks to the team’s rapid response and effective coordination, firefighters successfully contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading throughout the building.
