This is land Habernickel Family Park was set aside for conservation purposes but sprinklers are now being installed for a garden by Ridgewood Water? This seems antithetical to the purpose of conservation.
Once again the soccer and baseball games have begun and the parking situation has become dangerous. Simple issues like No Parking signs and a crosswalk have still not been addressed by the Village even though they proceeded Healthbarn and have been problems for years .
Soccer and baseball are already seeing the effect of Healthbarn being given 12 parking spots. Loss of the lot have pushed Ridgewood tax payers and the teams they are hosting for sports into the street for parking. There are no designated spots for Healthbarn, therefore their private clients are and will continue to utilize the entire lot to the exclusion of Ridgewood residents.
Neighbors are very concerned about the effect all this commotion 25 plus kids in a small home and 25 plus cars an hour will do to the natural green acres habitat the park is suppose to protect.
What Village has addressed immediately however are sprinklers and lights for a business in a residential zone ? Once again the needs of a private business are outweighing the benefit to the public good.

Those of us in favor of maintaining and building playing fields for our children (and mine are now out of the school system so I say that generically) have to look closely at the current Council candidates. I know one of them, Richard Brooks, is endorsed by Gwen Hauck. i understand Hauck is one of the current Council members who pushed for this fly by night desecration of the Hillcrest playing fields. Brooks has a lot to answer for if his mentor is part of our current field and parks problem.
I would like to hear each of the six candidates firmly speak his/her position on the commercialization of the Hillcrest playing fields and Habernickel park and its effect on our Village youth who practice and play on those fields, as well as our populace as a whole who use the park for other purposes, such as our senior citizens who use the park for exercise and some well deserved quiet reflection. Comment first on what was done. Then, comment on going forward and what your position will be in juggling similar conflicts in addressing the commercial interests of some against the interests of our Village youth and seniors.

In CBD – we are going to charge 1$ an hour for street parking from 9 to 9 pm – that’s 12$ a day per spot.
12 spots is 12*12 = 144$ a day, 6 days a week is 24 days or $3456. This BUSINESS is getting 3456$ worth of parking for FREE? Plus they are getting EXCLUSIVE use of park land for teaching garden which previous tenant did not get? Plus the village is spending money to renovate the park for them?
Who is the chairman of park and recreation committee? Richard Brooks? Lets ask him this question during April 20th debate.
Businesses usually negotiate a specified number of parking spots with their lease. That is why you sometimes see “Parking for XYZ Customers Only” signs in some lots. Health Barn is no different.
If we aren’t going to make some $$ then we should sell the whole lot.
Ms. Antine is a friend of Robertas from NJ LEADS. Therefore she has been cut a million breaks and has had corner after corner smoothed for her. It is despicable. The neighborhood is being made to pay because Roberta is flexing her muscles. Roberta needs to be put in handcuffs for the many ways in which she is raping our village. Tracy, Sharon, Stacey, friends of Robertas get what they want.

Oh yes, entire HR job created for RS pal Sharyn, quickly transmogrified from part time to full time because rumor says she was divorcing and needed benefits. All kinds of chicanery as they renamed the job several times. Salary + cost of benefits should be deducted from Sonenfeld’s salary. This perk of her job was giving perks to someone else.
Guys – please don’t claim HR manager and Code Enforcement Official to be RS’s friends unless there is data to back that claim. Stacy – yes she has been seen in pictures with RS – but where is the proof for HR person and Code Enforcement Officer?
