Ridgewood NJ, As I was leaving the Ridge School playground area with my grandchildren this morning, I noticed that the school’s large trash dumpster was overflowing with materials despite the school having been closed during the past week.
Upon closer examination, it became apparent that the materials dumped within were not generated by school employees – several empty liquor/wine boxes, household trash, a cardboard crate from an electric wine cooler, black plastic trash bags containing ?, and a box from a medical supply company.
So the question is: What individual and/or company is using the Ridge School dumpster (paid for by Ridgewood’s taxpayers) as their personal garbage disposal area, and are they dumping materials.
Has anyone who lives in the area of Ridge seen anyone backing a car or truck into the dumpster area recently?
Are there cameras in the Ridge lot…?
They have cameras facing the dumpsters at Hawes and Somerville….
Probably the same people that illegally dumped concrete at the Lakewood leaf Center. Not to worry the Ridgewood Police didn’t charge anyone with that crime so the chances are that the police will find the person responsible for this will get away with it.
Looks like a liquor store ran out of dumpster capacity during the holiday season and decided to burden the taxpayer with their commercial garbage. How about the Village open up one of the garbage bags that Boyd said was in there and if there is a clue who this belongs to. I, for one, don’t want to be stuck with the dumping fees of a commercial entity or homeowner who is disposing of otherwise prohibited garbage.
Village should get over their before the waste company takes the dumpster away.
Maybe you should pass this along to the school district and RPD?? – Capt. Obvious
Somebody got a wine fridge and a few cases for Christmas. It is not legal to dump household trash on school property. And this trash should have been recycled.
I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to dump your trash in someone else’s dumpster that they are paying for even if it’s the BoE.
6:25 pm – it actually IS illegal to dump trash in someone elses dumpster. It is a service that the BoE is paying a contractor to perform. And, btw, can I come over my house and dump my trash on your lawn? Just sayin’
