Ridgewood NJ, the decision to end a six-decade-long tradition of closing Clinton Avenue during Ridge School’s arrival and dismissal times has been met without complaints, according to Ridgewood Police Chief Forest Lyons. On Tuesday, Lyons shared that parents have expressed relief at the new arrangement, noting they feel safer walking on sidewalks rather than in the street.
Ridgewood NJ, the Clinton Avenue sidewalk project in Ridgewood has sparked ongoing debate among residents, with opinions sharply divided over its implications for pedestrian safety and the overall impact on the community. While the project aims to enhance safety, particularly for children walking to Ridge School, it has also raised concerns among residents about potential unintended consequences.
Ridgewood NJ, According to the Village Manager Keith Kazmark, the Clinton Avenue sidewalk project progressed earlier this week. While the weather has been a challenge, the project will continue and be wrapped up in the next week or two. This long discussed project will improve pedestrian safety, especially when traveling to Ridge School.
Ridgewood NJ, it is being reported from various sources that two (2) individuals, an adult man and woman, were reportedly arrested for trespassing at Ridge School this morning. Both were taken away in handcuffs to Ridgewood police headquarters for processing. Several marked and unmarked Ridgewood police vehicles were observed stationed in the driveway of Ridge shortly after 9:00 am. It is not known whether the individuals were trespassing inside or outside of the building when they were apprehended.
Ridgewood NJ, once again poor planning and misrepresentation of the impact of high density housing by both previous Village and the Ridgewood Board of Education officials have come back to bite the Ridgewood taxpayers . Parents have voiced concerns over how the lack of aides in kindergarten classrooms is affecting students’ safety and learning .
Ridgewood NJ, an individual from Ridge School tested positive for COVID-19 . Should you have any questions call the school nurse Colleen Manke at (201) 670-2740 ext 54520.
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Mayor Ramon Hache celebrated fun times at the Ridgewood Indian Community Annual Holi Celebration. The Mayor thanked Saurabh Dani, and Aditya Singh for the invite at Ridge Elementary School.
In true Ridge tradition, every time they examine this problem, the “solution” results in one or more of the following:
– reduced parking spaces (more are needed not less)
– additional costs and/or restrictions/ordinances imposed on the parents
– a net negative impact on the surrounding neighbors
– new or increased penalties/fines Which always result in
– a worsening of the situation
Ridgewood NJ, As I was leaving the Ridge School playground area with my grandchildren this morning, I noticed that the school’s large trash dumpster was overflowing with materials despite the school having been closed during the past week.
Upon closer examination, it became apparent that the materials dumped within were not generated by school employees – several empty liquor/wine boxes, household trash, a cardboard crate from an electric wine cooler, black plastic trash bags containing ?, and a box from a medical supply company.
So the question is: What individual and/or company is using the Ridge School dumpster (paid for by Ridgewood’s taxpayers) as their personal garbage disposal area, and are they dumping materials.
Has anyone who lives in the area of Ridge seen anyone backing a car or truck into the dumpster area recently?

RIDGEWOOD — The village will not install sidewalks along Clinton Avenue, a street traversed daily by hundreds of children who attend classes at the Ridge Elementary School.
The council largely agreed last week that taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be spent adding sidewalks to a road that is already among the village’s safest.
Police officials and Ridgewood’s engineer had endorsed the sidewalk work during an upcoming repaving of Clinton Avenue.

MIDLAND PARK SUBURBAN NEWS
MIDLAND PARK – Maltbie Avenue residents whose driveways are being blocked by cars of parents picking up their children from nearby Ridge Elementary School in Ridgewood will be given the chance to decide what option the governing body will take to remedy the situation.
Mayor Patrick “Bud” O’Hagan told the Borough Council at its Feb. 20 meeting that he was made aware of the situation when Maltbie Avenue residents Arthur and Abbey Marchetti attended a recent Saturday morning “Coffee With the Mayor.”
“These residents told me how frustrated they are that they are not able to get in or out of their own driveways,” O’Hagan said. “It is a narrow street and cars double-park to pick up their children.”
Maltbie intersects Franklin Avenue where it becomes West Ridgewood Avenue, perpendicular to Ridge Elementary School at 325 W. Ridgewood Ave.
Council members said they had discussed the predicament and suggest two options: striping the road to designate parking areas or restricting parking to one side of the road.
“Let’s hear what is acceptable to the residents,” said Councilwoman Nancy Cronk Peet.
Borough Clerk and Administrator Adeline Hanna was instructed by the governing body to send certified letters to the residents with homes on Maltbie.
