Ridgewood NJ, recently, a survey of 3,000 remote workers revealed that 25 percent of them would resist returning to the office even if their employers mandated it, and the reasons behind this reluctance were intriguing.

The top reason, identified by 24 percent of respondents, closely aligns with the common theme found in most articles discussing remote work: the desire for flexibility and control over one’s time.

However, the second reason is rather unique: Bathrooms. A significant 19 percent of those opposed to returning to the office cited the comfort of having their own bathroom while working from home, avoiding the need to share facilities with colleagues.

Here’s a breakdown of reasons three through eight:

  • Slightly over 11 percent (primarily women) mentioned menstruation, expressing a preference for dealing with this aspect more comfortably at home.
  • Nearly 9 percent enjoyed the company of their pets during the workday, making it a compelling reason to continue remote work.
  • Approximately 8 percent emphasized their aversion to commuting as a major factor in favor of remote work.
  • Another 7 percent disliked the need to plan for lunch in an office setting, while 4 percent preferred coffee breaks in the comfort of their homes.
  • About 4 percent appreciated the opportunity to share some private moments with a partner during the workday.
  • Finally, 2.46 percent highlighted the increased time available for their children while working from home.

Its seems more people wanted to spend time with their pets than with their children. In conclusion, this insightful list might provide business leaders with valuable considerations if they aim to encourage employees to return to the office. For instance, assuring them of private, comfortable bathrooms could address a notable 19 percent of objections.

  3. You know what I rather work with my pets, because some of my employees are the biggest backstabbing rats I ever worked with. these rap bastards think they’re going to get a bonus, or some kind of raise, or brownie points, they are not getting shit. So stupid. Troublemakers I can’t stand rats and troublemakers.
