Why bother…?
I liken it to trying out for a school musical when you can’t sing. Many of the voluteers lack the qualifications that you would assume one would need to possess in order to be part of a committee and from the way it seems, it is all about nepotism. I am guessing because it is a political dog and pony show with favors extended to those in a position to appoint, regular interested citizens are not chosen because it is all about who you know, like a high school popularity contest. Very immature and not very fair.
Well, if regular interested citizens lack the necessary qualifications, as you suggest, and probably quite rightly, then it can hardly be considered unfair if they’re not selected for the boards. Musicals suck enough without casting them with people who can’t sing.
That would call for a NATIONWIDE SEARCH which would turn up the usual suspects, amazingly from right around the corner!
