Its Not Economic Benefits Over Human Life ,Economic Benefits are Human Life

Ridgewood NJ, a recent article on NJ Insider attempting to quell the push to get the economy going promoting the false dichotomy that some how “Ranking Economic Benefits Over Human Life is Offensive ” . Life  is a functioning economy end of story . Only someone who lives at the charity of others would  not understand this.

Funny but the politicians in Trenton see fit to simultaneously raise the fuel tax and tolls on the NJ Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway  so apparently “Ranking Economic Benefits Over Human Life ” is ok for them . So if we can raise taxes , we can go back to work.

Economic Benefit is human life ,they are one in the same and I wish for once the people who write this drivel about “Ranking Economic Benefits Over Human Life is Offensive “, would go with out pay for a month just to test their theory .This shut down is destroying , livelihoods, careers  , businesses, savings, and families.

This brings up a fundamental flaw in the pervasive ideology in the state of New Jersey , or the simple lack of understanding that JOBS PAY TAXES , an obvious fact lost on most Trenton politicians . With out jobs there are no taxes, that means , no social safety net benefits, no pensions , no police ,no fire , no teachers, and no healthcare.

Dispute the massive Murphy tax increases  the state went into the Cronavirus pandemic on a very tenuous financial footing , with massive under funded liabilities and a inherent inability to meet it current expenses.   This makes the state of New Jersey extremely vulnerable to to economic setbacks.

That means that  state workers will be come extremely vulnerable,  with layoffs, pension cuts  and healthcare cuts looming.Another words if people don’t get back to work the state will have to start laying off teachers.
This dose not mean we embrace reckless abandon with our health and the health of others , it means while we try to mitigate the spread of the virus we equally look to get pieces of our economy safely restarted .
Lets face it ,if social distancing doesn’t show results shortly its just not working and its time to try something else anyway.

  1. Rode my bike down Ridgewood Avenue this morning from the train station to the high school.

Not a single car on the road.

    We’re not in Kansas anymore.

  2. In a way it’s nice and quiet.

  3. I’ve never understood why public sector workers deserve heavily subsidized ‘platinum’ level health insurance when the private sector equivalent is ‘bronze’… unless you pay much higher premiums out of pocket ?

And yet we’re all subsidizing platinum Health plans for teachers and municipal workers?

How are these excessive benefits reasonable or fair when private residents are losing their income and livelihoods, and also trying to care for family members and loved ones??

  4. Aren’t the fuel taxes earmarked for improving the state’s roads, bridges and tunnels?

    Not.

    Greedy pigs 🐷

  5. Same with ‘defined benefit’ pensions that they get right away after early retirement in the public sector?

Why can’t all new hires just have ‘defined contribution’ 403(b) plans and contribute more of their salary towards them like the 401(k) plans In the private sector?

    It’s only fair?

  6. you are misinformed, I am a teacher and pay close to $1000 a month for benefits. My pay is minimal compared to my pay had I chosen to work on the private sector. My hours working are far beyond a 9-5 job. I deal with 30+ personalities a day. Benefits are not free. I also contribute to the pension, it is not free, it is my money that I have deducted from my paycheck, which is little to begin with. So before you start spewing your big mouth about teachers why don’t you learn something!!! You sound like YOU need an education

  7. He’s back, the infamous Charlie Slime posting his obvious hate of municipal workers and jealousy of their pay and benefits. Hey Slime, you have been posting your Government Worker derangement syndrome comments here for over 14 years, what’s changed? Nothing! Go away Slime ball.

  8. You are correct. Both pension and healthcare benefits are out of line for public sector workers compared to the private sector, where younger workers can’t draw benefits (including social security) until they are 67.

We can thank the unions for that. This will end badly.

  9. Wow, almost $12,000 per year for your family platinum health benefits with $5-10 co pays and 95% of all incurred costs covered? That’s pure BS.

  10. Outsized greed

  11. Jimmy Bombastic, the disgraced former Fire captain and bully, is that you?

  12. 4766 infected in Bergen County of 975000 residents equal .49% people infected. Something to think about

  13. no I have Bergen County, the state’s most populous, had both the most cases, 6,187, and the greatest rate, 66 per 10,000 people.

  14. Slime ball does not even live in New Jersey anymore and he’s still here pissing and moaning about Village Employees. Talk about obsessed. He thinks Village employees are paid more than other municipal workers. That’s a blatant lie and he knows it.

  15. Is Charlie Slime (Kime) the guy that Aronsohn has on his tiger team?

  16. Hey Jimmy B the bully! Must be nice to get some drag air. Betcha you would have loved to be there last night to tell everyone what to do at Bagelicious. Too bad you’re in Florida.

  17. Yup, Slime was on Aronshon’s Financial Advisory Committee with Roberta, the X Village Manager who was charged with ethics violations and found guilty with Aronshon, Slime was Aronshon right hand man.

  18. Jim, have you paid the Village back the $500,000 you lost us because you harassed and bullied your subordinates? You’re a real peach 🍑 hiding behind your screen in your bunker in Florida, no doubt surrounded by toilet paper 🧻, sanitizers, N95 masks and gloves… enjoy your $100K+ pension and your $5 co-pays on your Viagra. Nobody cares what you say. That must suck.

  19. Hey Charlie, how are things in the Middle East Arab country your living in now? So sad you couldn’t find anyone to hire you in the United States because your reputation is so bad. It must suck having to leave the greatest country in the world to work is a third world country. Are you screwing your Muslim clients like you screwed your American clients? That wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

  20. https://theridgewoodblog.net/citizens-for-a-better-ridgewood-tainted-by-the-bombace-scandal/

This says disgraced former Village employee James Bombace, now on a $100,000 Village pension, formed a group called “Citizens for a Better Ridgewood” which was an early backer of the Ahronson/Pucciarelli/Huack Rickey for Village Council. So you run off to Florida to live tax free in your huge pension and leave the Village to deal with a huge farage, over development , etc. Were you in on the property development? No answer on the $500,000 judgement against the Village because you bullied and harassed a subordinate in a whistleblower case? You could paid that back in five years with your pension.

  21. The public sector workers and retireees in the US have a problem…

Working stiffs in the private sector are funding the generous pensions and healthcare benefits while their income is collapsing or they’re losing their jobs.

If ever there was an argument for new public sector workers being moved to defined contribution retirement savings schemes like 403(b) plans, and for asking them to contribute more of their salaries towards pension savings and health insurance benefits!

I’ve never understood why public sector workers deserve heavily subsidized ‘platinum’ level health insurance when the private sector equivalent in the US is ‘bronze’… unless you pay much higher premiums out of pocket ?

And yet property tax payers are all subsidizing platinum health plans for teachers and municipal workers?

How are these excessive benefits reasonable or fair when private residents are losing their income and livelihoods, and also trying to care for family members and loved ones??

  22. Hey Charlie (Kime) Slime, have you paid back hundreds of thousands of dollars you didn’t earn from your clients yet. Oh that’s right your not a resident of America any more. So how’s living in the United Arab Emirates working out for you. I guess they haven’t figured out what liar and cheater you are yet.

You helped your good buddy Paul Aronshon screw up the Village with all this massive building of apartments and the Ginormous Garage and then you run away. Why did you have to go to the United Arab Emirates, couldn’t find a job in America huh, I guess your reputation caught up with you here.

The fact that you keep posting here and you don’t even live in this county demonstrates your mental sickness. You need professional help for your obvious derangement syndrome.
