Midland Park NJ, Midland Park FD’s ladder truck was dispatched to rescue a man from the roof of a building located at 27 Faner Road, Midland Park on the morning of Monday, 11/28. The individual was uninjured; he had been on the roof installing a satellite dish and was unable to safely descend via the ladder he’d climbed up on. Midland Park PD and Wyckoff PD units assisted with traffic control during the rescue process.
OK, lets read between the lines. “Unable to descend” means his ladder fell over. And despite all the fancy garb you just can’t fix stupid.
People don’t realize that it’s easy to climb up onto a roof even with a short length of ladder exceeding the gutter line by 2 or 3 feet.trouble is you cant easily walk that backup step from the roof in reverse safely to begin to get onto a short section of ladder .its easy to make this mistake. This is why fireman train extensively in roof assaults and ladder safety .smart move to call in the experts .likely save a life.
10:17 you sound like a really nice person.
