Trenton NJ, Gov. Murphy introduces 2019 budget in State House address, and no surprise he rattled off a series of significant tax increases for the garden State . Murphy had run on a platform of raising taxes or what critics called “Murphy’s Law” and here is just a few he wants to start with ; a sales tax increase to 7%, tax on AirBnB rentals , new taxes on Uber and Lyft, E- Cigarette taxes, legal Marijuana taxes of 25% plus sales tax, income tax for $1 million plus and new business taxes.

  1. Raise taxes on the highest taxed residents in the country… wrong policy and won’t help.

  2. Keep running down the small businesses of the state – way to go Murphy.

  3. Limousine Liberal’s will finally get their dose of the reality they have sowed.
Higher taxes all around and limited interest and SALT deductions.
Truly intelligent people will do the math and decide the cost of living in NJ is too high.
It will be fun to watch the exodus of high earners to more fiscally responsible states.
New Jersey and Connecticut are in serious trouble due to Liberal Progressive taxation policies.

  4. WHoa!!! the lower tax rate in NJ was supposed to be compensation for the higher gasoline tax. And it was supposed to go down to 5 percent or something I thought.

  5. @6:33 – Please spare the conservative states the blight of these progressive high income earners. Let them stay in their blue state paradise and pay the higher taxes.

These locusts move to a conservative state for low taxes, and then immediately start mass voting for Democrats to ‘turn’ those states blue.

  6. New Murphy’s Laws just released
    – Murphy’s first law: If it can be taxed, it will be.
    – Murphy’s first law addendum: If it cannot be taxed, we will figure out a way.
    – Murphy’s second law: If it is already taxed, it will be taxed more.
