NJ State Police Seeking Public’s Assistance with Fatal Crash Investigation of the New Jersey Turnpike

East Brunswick Township NJ, The New Jersey State Police and Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance with the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on August 23.

Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives determined that at approximately 10:45 p.m., a White ISUZU box truck 25 feet long was parked northbound on the shoulder of the truck lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike in East Brunswick Township, Middlesex County. In the area of milepost 78.8, a collision occurred with an unknown tractor trailer that fled the scene.

As a result of the crash, the White ISUZU box truck, sustained damage to the driver side door and mirror. The driver, 78-year-old Giuseppe Zuccarello of Whitestone, NY, was struck while outside of the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the events prior to or following the crash is asked to contact the Troop “D” Criminal Investigations Office at 732-441-4500 ext. 4424.
