Dumont NJ, 14-year-old Aaron Vasquez unexpectedly collapsed and died while playing basketball this past Saturday, November 20, 2021. Vasquez had finished practicing with his basketball traveling team, when he decided to stay longer at the Grant Elementary School to play with his younger brother, according to witnesses. CPR was attempted on site then members of the Dumont Volunteer Ambulance Corps rushed him to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Dumont NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JEFFREY DANIELS (DOB: 11/01/1983; single; delivery associate) of 310 Knickerbocker Road, Dumont, NJ, on charges of Murder, Possession Of A Weapon For An Unlawful Purpose, and Endangering The Welfare Of A Child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton, and the Dumont Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Connor.
Dumont NJ, At approximately 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, the Dumont Police Department received reports that a 5-year-old child was wandering unattended in the area of an apartment complex at 310 Knickerbocker Road in Dumont. Responding officers learned that the child’s mother lived in the complex. The child’s aunt reported that her sister, the child’s 36-year-old mother, was not answering her phone. Officers entered the mother’s apartment where they discovered her dead body. The victim had been stabbed in the neck.
Dumont NJ, according to the Dumont Police Department on Tuesday at approximately 11:40am an indecent exposure occurred in our CVS parking lot located at 50 West Madison Avenue. Suspect vehicle is described as a newer model White Audi driven by a white male in his mid to late 20’s wearing a beige trench coat.
Suspect played loud music to get the attention of two High School females at which time he exposed himself.

Dumont NJ, Dumont native Glenn Sobieski hasn’t been seen nor heard from since January 31st .The Dumont High School graduate has worked in the hospitality industry , and was working at the Hotel Indigo on Manhattan’s Lower East Side . Glenn served five years as a Bergen County public safety dispatcher in Mahwah.
Glen n comes from a family very invilved in public service in Bergen County , including two of his uncles, Midland Park Police Chief Michael Powderley and retired Demarest Police Chief James Powderley. His mother, Diane Marello, is with the Demarest Volunteer Ambulance Corps; her husband is former Demarest Fire Chief Eric Marello.

GALLAGHER (DOB: 6/11/1988; single; and self-employed as a website designer) of 36 Erie Street, Dumont, New Jersey on the charges of Distribution Of Child Pornography, greater than 25 files (415 files) and Possession Of Child Pornography, greater than 1,000 files (1,015 files). The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
On Friday, April 5, 2019, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of William G. GALLAGHER during the course of a months-long Internet child pornography investigation. The investigation revealed that GALLAGHER used the Internet to view and possess more than 1,000 digital files depicting nude or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children, and distributed more than 25 files, also depicting nude or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.

This arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Dumont Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael J. Conner.
Several months ago, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Dumont Police Department received information that William H. KECK was distributing Controlled Dangerous Substances, namely Oxycodone, in Bergen County. On Thursday, October 11, 2018, a search of KECK’s residence located at 109 Lafayette Avenue in Dumont resulted in the seizure of Controlled Dangerous Substances including numerous Oxycodone 20MG and 30MG tablets, Suboxone, Diazepam, and Zolpidem, and plastic baggies used for the packaging of Controlled Dangerous Substances for distribution purposes.
Dumont NJ, a high school student was taken into custody on Monday after a reported social media threat prompted a lockdown and a Bergen County SWAT team response.
Dumont police say that the threat was made by a 15-year-old Dumont High School sophomore and the school was then placed on lockdown. The Bergen County SWAT team responded to the school along with police from Dumont and surrounding towns.
The lockdown happened around lunchtime yesterday. They said that they first thought that it was a drill. They hid under desks and inside classrooms. Photographs and videos posted on social media show large groups of students inside the gym and out on the athletic fields.
Police taking no chances ,the lockdown comes nearly two weeks after a deadly mass shooting in Parkland, Florida.
According to Dumont Police Chief Michael Conner a gun was recovered at the student’s home. It wasn’t clear whether the weapon belonged to the student. No weapons were found at the school
The Dumont Public Schools sent a message to parents saying the student was taken into custody at about 1:15 p.m. and the lockdown was lifted.The student’s name has not been released due to his age.Classes are expected to resume normally Tuesday.
