Saddle River NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of STEVEN RUGELES (DOB: 01/06/1993; married; unemployed) of 1204 Fairmount Avenue, Elizabeth, NJ; SANTIAGO CAMARGO-ROJAS (DOB: 05/03/1999; single; unemployed) of 738 Seaport Drive, Elizabeth, NJ; and NICHOLAS BUITRAGO-GRILLO (DOB: 2/01/2000; single; unemployed) of 738 Seaport Drive, Elizabeth, NJ on charges of conspiracy to commit burglary, money laundering, receiving stolen property, possession of false government documents and possession of burglar tools. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and several other Bergen County police departments.

Victim Dies in Closter Hit and Run, Charges Upgraded to Vehicular Homicide

Closter NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the upgraded charges of JESUS YUNGANAULA TENEMPAGUAY (DOB: 04/10/1986; married; cook) of 33 Johnson Avenue, Floor 2, Hackensack, NJ for vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, and hindering apprehension. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Closter Police Department under the direction of Chief John McTigue.

Closter NJ, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating a crash involving a pedestrian that occurred in the area of Durie Avenue and Legion Place in Closter, NJ, on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m. The investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Closter Police Department under the direction of Chief Jack McTigue.

Closter NJ , Closter Police Department reported a Bear sighting on Friday May 27th . Please be advised that a black bear was spotted on Dana Place this morning. NJ Fish and Wildlife was notified. They advised us that residents should make sure garbage is secured, bird seed is brought in, to keep an eye on pets and keep garages shut. Glen Rock NJ, according to the Glen Rock Police a total of 439 high end vehicles were stolen in Bergen County in 2021. Vehicle owners  in the region are experiencing an uptick in car thefts . The common denominator in there thefts were that the cars were unlocked !

The Rash of Key Fob Assisted Car Thefts Continues in Closter

Closter NJ, on September 15th ,Closter Police Department reported that yet again, we had TWO more motor vehicles stolen last night. As long as the criminals are successful in stealing cars in Closter and the Northern Valley area they will continually come here. They will continually drive around our neighborhoods during the overnight hours and look for vehicles with the key fob inside. It is becoming increasingly more dangerous for the residents and local law enforcement if we all don’t lock our doors and take our key fob inside. If you have trouble remembering, set a reminder on your phone and again day later another stolen vehicle  with the key fob inside.
