City of Englewood Mayor Vetoes Affordable Housing Plan , Says “we shouldn’t be afraid to push back in the Courts”

Englewood NJ, after the city council of Englewood passed plan to provide affordable housing through overlay zones Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes vetoed the ordinance writing that the plan was inconsistent with the master plan , failed to properly respect residential zoning  , failed to incorporate  redevelopment study areas and the plan, “fails to preserve our goal of maintaining neighborhood character, fails to target development to blighted areas of the city, and was conducted in a fashion that has alienated our citizenry.”

Englewood PBA : Black Live Matter Organizers “chose to interfere with an active investigation and interject themselves into the situation,”

Englewood NJ, Englewood’s PBA  issues a scathing letter blasting Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes for playing politics and grandstanding with law enforcement .  In a statement the city’s police union calls the use of force by officers “appropriate and completely necessary.” in a clash at a Black Lives Matter rally last weekend . The PBA statement claims the organizers “chose to interfere with an active investigation and interject themselves into the situation,”
