Fair Lawn NJ, A general contracting company based in Newark today admitted violating Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, leading to the death of an employee, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.
Fair Lawn NJ, a Sunday morning, 05/02, kitchen fire at a deli located in the 2200 block of Morlott Avenue, Fair Lawn was quickly knocked down by Fair Lawn firefighters, but not before it had extended to the establishment’s exhaust system and traveled to the roof. No injuries were reported in the blaze. Fair Lawn Police and Fair Lawn EMS also responded.
Fair Lawn NJ, Fair Lawn Police took the adult male driver of a Toyota Prius into custody for suspected DUI following a head on, Friday morning, 03/26 crash in the 2400 block of Maple Avenue, Fair Lawn. The driver of the other vehicle involved, a Chevy Malibu, was transported by Fair Lawn EMS to a local hospital with a non-life threatening arm injury. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Glen Rock Police assisted at the scene. Traffic in both directions of Maple Avenue was detoured around the crash site while first responders and the tow truck operator worked.
Fair Lawn NJ, Fair Lawn Police and Fair Lawn EMS responded to a single vehicle MVA involving a utility pole in the 1900 block of Saddle River Road on Saturday afternoon, 03/13. One (1) occupant of the vehicle was injured and transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. A flatbed tow truck removed the wreckage. Damage to the utility pole was moderate; PSE&G was notified.
Oakland NJ, According to court documents filed Feb. 26, Nicholas Carretta “suffered substantial fear, apprehension, harm and emotional distress” from three packages sent to his home and office in 2019 and 2020. The deliveries “shocked, scared, and offended” him, according to court documents.
Fair Lawn NJ, A shipping container loaded with used computers/electronics intended for recycling fell off of truck being towed on Route 208 northbound at Maple Avenue, Fair Lawn on Wednesday morning, 02/24. The incident was triggered after the loaded container reportedly struck the Maple Avenue overpass. No injuries were reported, but a significant amount of diesel fuel spilled onto the roadway following the crash. Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue and NJDOT responded to the incident. The right travel lane and shoulder of the highway were closed while emergency responders and tow truck personnel worked at the scene. No structural damage to the overpass was apparent.
Fair Lawn NJ, The owner of several Fairlawn, New Jersey, businesses was sentenced today to 12 months and one day in prison for failing to pay more than $500,000 in payroll taxes, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.
Fair Lawn NJ, two (2) ambulances were required to transport accident victims to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus from a late Tuesday afternoon, head on crash at the intersection of Saddle River Road and Terhune Place. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Fair Lawn Police and Fair Lawn EMS responded to the incident.
Fair Lawn NJ, the impact of a two (2) vehicle Saturday night, 01/30, crash in the 14-00 block of Morlott Avenue, Fair Lawn sent one (1) of the vehicles careening off of Morlott Avenue into a nearby single family home. No injuries were reported by either vehicle’s occupants, nor occupants of the home, and damage to the structure did not appear to be severe in nature. Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue, and Fair Lawn Fire Department Company #1 responded to the incident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. In light of possible structural damage, a Borough of Fair Lawn building inspector was requested by Fire Department personnel, as was a representative from PSE&G.
Fair Lawn NJ, A two (2) vehicle Monday evening, 11/23 crash at the intersection of Fair Lawn Avenue and Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn resulted in at least one (1) fatality and an unknown number of injuries. Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Fire, Fair Lawn EMS, Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital rushed in vain to aid crash victims. The entire intersection of Fair Lawn Avenue and Saddle River Road was likely to remain closed for hours to facilitate an investigation, restoration of damaged utility & traffic control equipment, and clean up. NorthJersey.com is reporting , “At least one person died in a motor vehicle accident on Saddle River Road in Fair Lawn Monday evening, police confirmed.”

Fair Lawn NJ, A 1-1/2 story single family home in the thirty-eight hundred block of Vanore Drive, Fair Lawn caught fire on Saturday morning, 11/07. Fair Lawn firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, which appeared to have been limited primarily to the structure’s exterior. All occupants of the home safely exited the structure prior to the arrival of fire department personnel. Fair Lawn Police also responded.
Fair Lawn NJ, Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Fire Companies #1 & #3, and the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad responded to a early Friday afternoon, 10/30, crash in which a box truck veered off of River Road and crashed into a utility pole and large shade tree before coming to rest on the front lawn of a single family home. The truck’s driver self extricated from the wreckage; the nature of his/her injuries is unknown. River Road was closed in both directions for an extended period to facilitate replacement of the pole, and the restoration of utility services. Elmwood Park Police assisted by providing traffic control.
Fair Lawn NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JACK T. ANDERSON (DOB: 10/27/1994; single; youth program director) of 14-26 Elmary Place, Fair Lawn, NJ, on charges of Production Of Child Pornography, Luring, Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, and Providing Obscenity To A Minor. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Fair Lawn Police Department under the direction of Chief Glen Cauwels.
