Fort Lee NJ, Fort Lee Police and personnel from various County of Bergen law enforcement agencies investigated a Thursday afternoon, 09/24, shooting that took place shortly after 3:15 PM at the Holiday Inn of Fort Lee, 2339 Route 4 East, Fort Lee. One (1) adult male victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. He was reportedly conscious and alert when police arrived at the scene, but was suffering from a gunshot wound/s that was/were not self-inflicted. Police were searching for a dark-colored sedan or coupe with heavily tinted windows, occupied by four (4) unidentified adult males.

WILSON (DOB: 02/27/1975; single; unemployed) of 371 Bergen Boulevard, Apartment 605, Fairview, NJ on Vehicular Homicide charges. The arrest is the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Port Authority Police Department under the direction of Superintendent of Police Edward Cetnar.

Fort Lee NJ, The New Jersey State Police have arrested Joel Lasanta, 37, of Kissimmee, FL in connection to a fatal hit-and-run accident on the New Jersey Turnpike that killed Jada Smith, 21, of Teaneck, N.J.
On June 4, at approximately 10:25 p.m., troopers from Troop “D” Newark Station responded to the report of a hit-and-run crash southbound in the express lanes at milepost 121.5 in Fort Lee, Bergen County. When troopers arrived, they discovered Smith had sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. She was pronounced deceased at the scene at 10:54 p.m.

Shope Oluwo, 35, previously pleaded guilty before Chief U.S. District Judge Freda L. Wolfson to an indictment charging him with one count each of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, access device fraud, and aggravated identity theft. The 2020 Top Truck Bottleneck List assesses the level of truck-involved congestion at 300 locations on the national highway system. The analysis, based on truck GPS data from over 1 million heavy duty trucks uses several customized software applications and analysis methods, along with terabytes of data from trucking operations to produce a congestion impact ranking for each location. ATRI’s truck GPS data is also used to support the U.S. DOT’s Freight Mobility Initiative. The bottleneck locations detailed in this latest ATRI list represent the top 100 congested locations, although ATRI continuously monitors more than 300 freight-critical locations.

Richard Fernandez, 36, and Carlos Mosquea-Diaz, 36, are charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin and fentanyl. Fernandez is also charged with possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime.
Fort Lee NJ, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of JUNE REINER (DOB: 6/26/1948; single; retired) of 1512 Palisade Avenue, Unit 9M, Fort Lee, NJ, on a charge of Leaving The Scene Of A Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Fort Lee Police Department under the direction of Chief Keith Bendul.
At approximately 4:54 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, the Fort Lee Police Department received a report of a pedestrian struck by a hit and run vehicle on Main Street near the intersection with Jones Road. Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed a female victim lying in the roadway with serious injuries consistent with having been struck by a motor vehicle. The 61-year-old victim, later identified as Vera P. Zozulevich, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department revealed that Zozulevich was attempting to cross Main Street when she was struck by a westbound box truck and then struck again by an eastbound Mercedes-Benz SUV. The box truck remained on the scene, but the Mercedes-Benz, operated by June REINER fled. Witness accounts and surveillance video recovered from the area led investigators to the location of the fleeing vehicle and its driver, June REINER.
As a result of the investigation, June REINER was arrested on December 19, 2018 in Fort Lee and charged with one count of Leaving The Scene Of A Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-5.1, a 2nd degree crime. REINER is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ on Friday, January 4, 2019.
Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Fort Lee Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
