Glen Rock NJ, at the September 13th, 2023, public meeting of the Mayor and Council, three members of the Glen Rock Police Department and one firefighter were honored with Commendation Certificates for exemplary actions taken during 2023.
Glen Rock NJ, the adult driver of a KIA Sportage was extradited from her vehicle after it slammed into a utility pole and rolled over in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue, Glen Rock on Tuesday afternoon, 08/15. The victim was transported by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital and Glen Rock Fire Department also responded to the incident. PSE&G Electric Division and Verizon crews began restoring service after a tow truck righted the vehicle and removed it from the scene.
Glen Rock NJ, A Borough of Glen Rock Department of Public Works employee was seriously injured when the compact construction loader (Bobcat) he was operating at the Glen Rock Recycling Center on Doremus Avenue tipped over onto one side early Thursday afternoon, 07/27. He was transported to The Valley Hospital by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance. Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock Fire Department also responded to the incident, which will be investigated by OSHA at a later date. Glen Rock EMS was assisted at the scene by a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital.
Glen Rock NJ, a single vehicle, late Sunday night, 06/25, rollover crash in the 300 block of Harristown Road, Glen Rock trapped the passenger car’s driver inside until she could be freed by firefighters from Glen Rock Fire Department and Hawthorne Fire Department. The victim was transported by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. A paramedic team assisted with evaluating the victim prior to her transport. The rolled over vehicle was righted and removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. PSE&G’s Electric Division was notified that a utility pole may have been compromised when it was struck in the mishap.
Glen Rock NJ, a BMW SUV crashed into a commercial building located in the 200 block of Rock Road, Glen Rock early Wednesday afternoon, 04/19. The building has been the scene of at least two (2) similar accidents within the last few years. Glen Rock Police responded to the incident along with Glen Rock Fire Department. The vehicle’s driver was shaken up quite a bit, but refused ambulance transport to a local hospital.
Glen Rock NJ, the driver of a Ford Expedition sustained non life threatening injuries, and was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a late Saturday night, 02/18, rollover crash in the 500 block of Rock Road, Glen Rock. Two (2) parked vehicles were also damaged in the crash. All three (3) vehicles were towed from the scene. Glen Rock Police , Glen Rock Fire Department, and Glen Rock EMS responded to the incident.
Fair Lawn NJ, a VW Jetta was destroyed by fire on Harristown Road near Route 208, Fair Lawn late Tuesday afternoon, 01/03. Fair Lawn Fire Company #2 extinguished the blaze with the help of Glen Rock Fire Department. Fair Lawn Police and Glen Rock Police provided traffic control. The burnt Jetta was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. No injuries reported .
Glen Rock NJ, a downed high voltage electric power line resulted in an hours long closure of Route 208 in both directions through portions of Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, and Hawthorne on Saturday afternoon, 11/12. The energized line also damaged a section of pavement on the southbound highway in Glen Rock when in fell, which resulted in a lane closure once the highway did finally reopen. Glen Rock Police, Glen Rock Fire Department, Fair Lawn Police, Hawthorne Police, New Jersey State Police, NJDOT, PSE&G Electric Division, and Ridgewood Emergency Services units responded to the incident. Additional power lines in Glen Rock were downed later that day when a tree fell in a wooded area near NJ Transit’s Main Line tracks. Wide area power outages were reported in connection with that mishap.
Glen Rock NJ , on Friday September 9th at 2:33 PM ,Glen Rock Police Patrols, along with Glen Rock firefighters, were dispatched to a report of a brush fire caused by downed utility wires on the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue. Upon arrival, they found that the fire was out, however, damages were caused to a residence when a delivery truck struck the power lines and pulled them from the structure of the home. The unidentified truck had left the area prior to the response of police and fire personnel. The scene was rendered safe and turned over to PSE&G.
Hawthorne NJ, Route 208 southbound at Grandview Avenue in Hawthorne/Wyckoff was blocked by emergency vehicles for several hours on Labor Day, 09/05, due to a fatal motor vehicle accident. An accident in which a fast moving 4-door sedan careened off of the highway upward, and crashed into a heavily wooded area. One (1) of the vehicle’s occupants was pronounced dead at the scene; the other was transported to a local hospital by the Hawthorne Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Hawthorne Police and Hawthorne Fire Department personnel and equipment also responded to aid the victims. Glen Rock Fire Department, and Wyckoff Fire Department were also called to the scene for assistance. Wyckoff Police helped with traffic control. Passaic County Sheriff’s Office units and the Northern Regional Medical Examiners office’s office responded as well.
Glen Rock NJ, no injuries were reported in a three (3) passenger vehicle collision at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Park Avenue, Glen Rock on Saturday night, 09/03. Two (2) vehicles were heavily damaged in the crash; they both were removed from the scene by tow trucks. Glen Rock Police Department and Glen Rock Fire Department responded to the incident (FD personnel attended to a crash related fluid spill).
Glen Rock NJ,A fallen high tension electric cable resulted in the closure of Route 208 near De Boer Drive, Glen Rock late morning and early afternoon on Saturday, 07/30. The “hot” cable also caused several small brush fires along NJ Transit’s Main Line tracks under Route 208. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, but motor vehicle traffic in the surrounding area was clogged for hours. Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock Fire Department were assisted by multiple law enforcement and fire suppression agencies in handling the incident.
Glen Rock NJ, according to Glen Rock police. a NJ Transit train struck and killed a person very early Friday morning . As of Friday morning authorities were working to formally identify the victim ,who was a man in his 30s .

Fair Lawn NJ, a two alarm fire damaged a Fair Lawn residence Wednesday afternoon. The Fair Lawn Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on the three block of 32nd St. at 5:38 PM. Upon arrival, fire was found on the exterior of the building.
