
Glen Rock Police Warn Common Denominator for Stolen Vehicles are Key Fobs left inside and Doors unlocked

Glen Rock NJ, on Saturday December 11th at 7:26 PM Glen Rock Police Patrol units were dispatched to a residence on Doremus Avenue for a report of a fight. Officers on scene found that an altercation broke out amongst a group of adults during a party. There were allegations of a physical assault that may have occurred prior to officers’ arrival. No medical assistance was requested at that time. Since the alleged assault was not witnessed by officers, parties involved were advised how to sign civilian complaints with the Glen Rock Municipal Court if they wished.

Glen Rock NJ, first responders from multiple agencies rushed to aid an individual who was struck by a Hoboken bound NJ Transit train at the Glen Rock Main Line Station on Thursday morning, 12/09. The victim was extricated from underneath the train and transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. NJ Transit Police is conducting an investigation of the incident. No crew members nor passengers were injured. Main Line rail service was suspended in both directions between Paterson and Ridgewood due to the pedestrian strike at Glen Rock Station on the Main Line. NJ Transit Police officers were on scene and assisting.

Glen Rock on Monday November 29th at 1:29 PM , a Glen Rock resident reported that after making an Amazon purchase, they received a text from what was believed to be Amazon concerning a purchase in the amount of $1,490.97 which the resident did not make. A number was provided to dispute the charge which they called.

Glen Rock NJ, on Tuesday November 30th at 1:21 PM , the Director of Security for the Glen Rock Public Schools reported that a catalytic converter had been stolen from a truck belonging to the school district’s Buildings and Grounds Department which was parked behind the Glen Rock High School over the Thanksgiving break. A review of video surveillance found that the theft occurred on November 25th at 6:40 PM. The video captured images of two unknown individuals driving up behind the school, one subject used a battery powered saw went under the truck, and quickly cut and removed the catalytic converter from the vehicle. The video images were not clear enough to record a license plate number.

Glen Rock NJ, on Saturday November 27th at 3:02 PM , a representative of the Sikh Temple responded to Glen Rock Police headquarters to report a theft. Unknown actors entered the parking lot of the Sikh Temple during the overnight hours of November 25th. The actors used a jack to lift a vehicle in the parking lot and then proceeded to steal the catalytic converter from the victim’s car. The Glen Rock detective bureau is investigating.

Hawthorne NJ, at least three (3) individuals were transported to local area hospitals following a multi-vehicle crash in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue, Hawthorne on Tuesday afternoon, 11/23. Hawthorne Police, and Hawthorne Fire Department Company #4 responded to the incident along with mutual aid BLS units from The Valley Hospital. Glen Rock Police officers assisted with traffic control. Two (2) vehicles sustained heavy crash related damage; a third vehicle may have been removed from the scene on its own power. Hawthorne Auto Body removed the wrecked cars. A crash related fluid spill was attended to by firefighters from Hawthorne Fire Department.

Glen Rock NJ, according to Glen Rock Police on Thursday November 4th at 9:32 AM a Berkeley Place resident reported that their 2015 BMW X5 was stolen from their driveway sometime between 7:30 and 8 a.m. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the key fob inside. The Newark Police Department subsequently recovered the vehicle in their city after it had been involved in a motor vehicle accident and the occupants fled. No arrests were made by Newark Police, who impounded the vehicle. Glen Rock detectives responded to the Newark impound yard in an effort to recover any evidence from the vehicle.

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police have identified two Fair Lawn teenagers as those who were responsible for graffiti at a business along the 500 block of Broad Street and the Maple Avenue railroad underpass.

Glen Rock NJ, Monday October 25th at 12:02 AM , Glen Rock Police patrols responded to assist the Ridgewood Police Department in investigating a report of individuals attempting to gain entry to vehicles in their community. During the course of canvassing the area, a 2018 BMW, stolen from a Glen Rock residence the day before, was observed in the area. The vehicle was subsequently found on E. Glen Ave. in Ridgewood where it had crashed, and the occupants fled on foot. The vehicle was impounded and processed for any latent evidence.

Glen Rock NJ, a tractor trailer-tanker truck jackknifed on Route 208 southbound near Harristown Road, Glen Rock on Monday afternoon, 11/08 after colliding with another commercial vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported by either driver. However, police were forced to close Route 208 southbound just prior to the accident scene for over two (2) hours to facilitate remediation of a diesel fuel spill, and removal of the heavily damaged truck. Glen Rock Police, Glen Rock Fire Department, Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Fire Department, Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue, Bergen County Hazmat, and NJDOT personnel responded to the incident.

Glen Rock NJ, Monday Glen Rock Police Officer Stanislao responded to a call from a resident regarding a hawk being stuck in their soccer net. He was able to cut the net and free the hawk without it being injured.

Glen Rock NJ, for the second time in less than four (4) months, Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock Fire Department units responded to 11 Harristown Road, Glen Rock on reports of automatic fire suppression system that was activated due to a delivery van getting wedged underneath of the building. No injuries were reported in the incident, and damage was limited to several broken sprinkler heads and acoustic ceiling tiles. A tow truck operator released air from the stuck vehicle’s tires in order that it could be driven out from under the building. The roof of the van, operated by a contractor for Amazon, sustained significant damage.
