Ho -Ho-Kus NJ, in a fortunate turn of events, no one was injured when a New Jersey Transit train collided with a car in Ho-Ho-Kus on Thursday morning. The incident occurred at the Hollywood Avenue crossing at approximately 10:15 a.m., according to NJ Transit officials.
Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, two (2) non-life threatening injuries were reported following a two (2) vehicle, Friday evening, 12/30, collision at the intersection of Hollywood Avenue and Sheridan Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus. Both vehicles involved sustained heavy front end damage and were towed from the scene. Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters attended to a significant, crash related fluid spill Ho-Ho-Kus Police and Ho-Ho-Kus EMS also responded, as did a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital. Waldwick Police assisted with traffic control.
Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, multiple ambulances were required to transport three (3) victims from the scene of a Tuesday afternoon, 10/11, collision between a mini-van and work van at the intersection of Wearimus Road and Deerhill Road, Ho-Ho-Kus. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Ho-Ho-Kus Police issued one (1) summons to the mini-van’s driver. Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department, Ho-Ho-Kus EMS, and New Jersey Mobile Health Care officers/firefighters/EMTs responded to aid the victims.
Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, one (1) driver was seriously injured when two (2) small, 4-door sedans collided at the intersection of First Street and North Maple Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus early Wednesday afternoon, 04/27. The injured driver, an adult male, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with a paramedic team assisting attending EMTs. The other driver, an adult female, was evaluated on the scene by Ho-Ho-Kus EMTs and refused further medical attention. Both heavily damaged vehicles were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department, and Ho-Ho-Kus EMS equipment and personnel responded to aid crash victims, along with a paramedic team from the nearby The Valley Hospital.
Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, an SUV traveling southbound on Route 17 in Ho-Ho-Kus spun out of control on Sunday morning, 03/28, and skidded across the rain slicked highway before slamming into a tree just south of the Hollywood Avenue entrance/exit ramp. The SUV’s driver and a juvenile passenger refused medical attention after being evaluated by Ho-Ho-Kus EMS. Saddle River Police assisted Ho-Ho-Kus Police with traffic control. A tow truck removed the wrecked vehicle.
Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Ho-Ho-Kus EMS, and Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department personnel rushed to aid an adult female who either fell or jumped off of the Warren Avenue Bridge into the shallow Ho-Ho-Kus Brook late Tuesday afternoon, 09/08. A “low angle rescue” procedure was implemented by firefighters from Ho-Ho-Kus Fire to extract the victim from the water and transport her up a steep embankment. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ho-Ho-Kus’ emergency responders. The victim was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Center’s main campus. She was alert and conscious at the time transport began.
Ho Ho Kus NJ, Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department, and Ho-Ho-Kus EMS responded to a two (2) vehicle crash in front of 611 North Maple Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus early Tuesday afternoon, 10/23. One (1) crash victim was transported to The Valley Hospital with a non life threatening injury. Fire Department personnel attended to a minor crash related fluid spill and performed a battery disconnect on one (1) vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Ho Ho Kus NJ, The driver of a Lexus SUV escaped injury during a Tuesday afternoon rollover crash on Wearimus Road, Ho-Ho-Kus. Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Ho-Ho-Kus EMS, and Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department responded to the incident. A flatbed tow truck righted and removed the vehicle. There was visible damage to several trees and a utility pole. No power or communications services were affected.
Ho Ho Kus NJ, Two (2) individuals were transported by ambulances to The Valley Hospital following a two (2) vehicle collision at the intersection of Hollywood Avenue and North Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus early Friday afternoon, 04/13. Ho-Ho-Kus Police , EMS, and Fire Department personnel responded to aid the victims and attend to a crash related fluid spill. Both wrecks were taken away by a flatbed tow truck. Injuries appeared to have been non life threatening in nature.
Ho Ho Kus NJ, A portion of busy North Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus was closed for an extended period on Friday morning, 02/09, after a passenger vehicle crashed into a utility pole near Hollywood Avenue. Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Fire, and EMS units responded to aid the vehicle’s driver, who sustained minor crash related injuries. The wrecked vehicle was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. PSE&G was called to assess damages to the pole and electric infrastructure. The victim was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital.

Ho Ho Kus NJ, Ho-Ho-Kus Police and EMS responded to aid the adult female driver of a 4-door Buick sedan that crashed head on into a utility pole on Wednesday morning, 08/16. The crash occurred in front of 703 Hollywood Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus and resulted in the victim sustaining non life threatening injuries; she was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. A flatbed tow truck was dispatched to free the vehicle from its predicament.
Ridgewood NJ, Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Fire, EMS, and a patrol officer from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to a three (3) vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 17 northbound and Hollywood Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus on Thursday morning, 06/08. A Honda Accord involved in the collision spun around and was facing the wrong way in traffic. The Honda and an Audi SUV were both towed from the scene. All vehicle occupants refused ambulance transport to a hospital. A tractor trailer involved in the crash appeared to have not been damaged.
Ho Ho Kus NJ, A utility pole and pole mounted transformer on Blauvelt Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus were both KO’d by a wandering SUV on Wednesday afternoon, 05/24. The driver and occupants of the vehicle were shaken up, but uninjured in the crash. Ho-Ho-Kus PD, FD, and EMS personnel responded. The damaged vehicle was removed by a tow truck and PSE&G attended to the downed utility pole and transformer. A portion of Blauvelt Road was closed for an extended period as PSE&G crews worked to return conditions to normal.
