TRENTON NJ, NFIB, the leading small business association in the nation, with thousands of members in New Jersey reacted today to Governor Phil Murphy’s statement on taxes made at a Rowan University according to a news outlet. KYW reported that the Governor said “If you’re a one-issue voter and tax rate is your issue, either a family or a business if that’s the only basis upon which you’re going to make a decision, we’re probably not your state.” NFIB’s State Director in New Jersey, Laurie Ehlbeck commented on Gov. Murphy’s statement:

“Taxes are one of the top concerns of the nearly 900,000 small businesses in the state, and it’s unbelievable that the Governor would imply with his words if that’s so, New Jersey is probably not their state. He is implying they are unwelcome if they don’t want to pay more–that is ludicrous.

“It’s becoming clear that our Governor’s goal is to spend, spend, spend, and even though legislative leaders fought him on that, he is now attacking those who pay the state’s bills, small business owners. If they take his suggestion and leave New Jersey, our state will be a very sorry place. Its already ranked among the worst for high taxes.”

I am a One Issue Voter and That Issue is You; Phil Murphy

“If you’re a one issue voter and tax rate is your issue, either a family or a business, if that’s the only basis upon which you’re going to make a decision, we’re probably not your state,” Murphy said at Rowan, according to KYW Newsradio.
No statement we can come out with will truly be able to describe the stupidity of Phil Murphy and the way he and Trenton Democrats are governing our state.  Gov. Murphy, people are struggling. They are struggling to keep their businesses open; struggling to retire in this state. Why? Because of the taxes you and the rest of the Trenton Democrats smother New Jerseyians with. Gov. Murphy you and the rest of Trenton Democrats are to blame for the mass exodus of our citizens, people of NJ please vote to bring common sense and a new voice to Trenton this November, because according to Gov. Murphy and Trenton Democrats, “if you don’t like paying taxes get out of New Jersey.”

Paramus NJ, District 38 Candidates Kazimir & DiPiazza Statement on Governor Murphy & AG Grewal

“Phil Murphy and his Attorney General are committing an egregious overreach of their power. Their empty threats to our wonderful law enforcement community over its cooperation with Federal Law Enforcement authorities should immediately be checked by all of New Jersey’s citizens. The political theater out of Phil Murphy and the rest of the Trenton Democrats must come to an end in this year’s elections. When we go door to door and attend community events throughout our district, we hear an overwhelming outcry against sanctuary cities and for law enforcement. So, we ask Phil Murphy, his Attorney General and all of the Trenton Democrats; why do you blatantly ignore the people you are elected to represent?”

Transitioning to a State-Based Exchange (SBE) will give the state more control over the open enrollment period; access to data that can be used to better regulate the market, conduct targeted outreach and inform policy decisions; and allow user fees to fund exchange operations, consumer assistance, outreach and advertising. By redirecting the assessment on premiums, currently paid to the federal government to utilize a Federally-Facilitated Exchange (FFE), New Jersey can operate an exchange that is tailored and efficient for New Jersey residents.

PATERSON NJ, the Bergen County Historical Society says, “This could be a game changer when it comes to historic preservation in NJ. Saving historic structures that provide communities their identities makes sense.”

On a street lined with former silk mills, only blocks away from the Great Falls of Paterson, Governor Phil Murphy detailed a new historic preservation tax credit program as part of his vision for incentives reform. The Historic Preservation Tax Credit will serve to revitalize and fully realize the potential of New Jersey’s storied cities and towns.

“50 Spruce Street is one of hundreds, if not thousands of similar buildings in our state that have vast unfulfilled potential and can be restored to their former glory and repurposed for modern day use,” said Governor Murphy. “Historic preservation tax credits have helped other states preserve and utilize their historic buildings. These beautiful structures are often hidden in plain sight and are waiting for the right investor. We are here to help with that.”
