Ridgewood NJ, over the weekend we could not help but notice signs springing up over town. On August 31st we reported  that a new sign had sprung up at the historic Zabriskie-Schedler Property from Matrix New World an environmental engineering firm hired by the Village to test all the “free soil” dumped on the property to create the berm .

MORE SOIL CONTAMINATION FOUND AT SCHEDLER PROPERTY IN RIDGEWOOD

Ridgewood NJ, Results for soil samples taken at the Schedler Property on June 26 and 27, 2024 were finally uploaded to the Village website on August 8. The 6952 page report confirms what residents had reported for years, dangerous and hazardous substances extend beyond the berm into the 7 acre parcel.

Soil Testing Firm Assures Ridgewood Council that “there is no public health concern” at Schedler

Ridgewood NJ, at ‍ Wednesday evening’s Village Council Meeting, Matrix New World Engineering presented a report on the soil testing results on the berm at the Schedler property (pictured). Matrix assured the Council that there is no public health concern”, stating that three of the compounds found in the soil (lead, mercury and benz[a]anthracene) do not require any action or remediation.
