NEW PROVIDENCE NJ, The New Jersey Youth Symphony, a program of the Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts, announced today that it will host the U.S. Youth Orchestras eFestival “We Never Stopped Making Music” on September 20, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. EST via Zoom and YouTube Live. Ridgewood NJ, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center is producing a 50th anniversary documentary that will include an excerpt of the performance video of the Ridgewood High School Percussion Ensemble from the 2019 Young Musicians New Jersey Regional Concert. The video will be used under a voice-over by Executive Director Suzanne Davidson describing the Young Musicians Program. The student performers, Percussion Ensemble Director Gary Fink, RHS Principal Dr. Gorman, and Ridgewood High School will be acknowledged in the video.

Ridgewood NJ, Kieran Corcoran, a saxophonist from Ridgewood, New Jersey, has been named as the recipient of the 2020 Roland L. Meyer Scholarship Award by the Orpheus Club Men’s Chorus (Orpheus).
Corcoran, a senior at Ridgewood High School, is the woodwind captain of the school’s marching band, and president of the band council. He has played in the concert band, wind ensemble, big band, saxophone ensemble, and pit orchestra at the school. He also has served as a music mentor and district band member.

The Marjorie Vandervoort Vocal Award in the amount of $1,200 was instituted during the 90th Anniversary Season (2017-2018) in honor of Marjorie Vandervoort’s 25 years of service as our Music Director. This award is intended solely for excellence in vocal performance.
