Bergenfield NJ, Patrol Officer Jessica Lynn Hunter has won a significant legal victory against the Bergenfield Police Department, securing a six-figure settlement after a jury ruled in her favor. The lawsuit, filed in 2021, alleged discrimination, retaliation, and a hostile work environment due to her service in the New Jersey National Guard.

New Jersey National Guard Deployed to Assist Long-Term Care Facilities

Paramus NJ, less than one week after the Murphy Administration and  New Jersey Veterans’ Families Settle Lawsuit  for $53 million Over COVID Nursing Home Deaths , Governor Murphy announced that the New Jersey National Guard will be deploying to long-term care facilities throughout New Jersey to assist with COVID-19 response efforts and to augment facilities’ staffing. This is an extension of Joint Task Force COVID Guardian, which has provided coordinated assistance to numerous long-term care facilities since the first weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Outrage Grows Over Treatment of Nation Guard in Washington DC

Trenton NJ, Senator Joe Pennacchio called on Governor Murphy to bring the New Jersey National Guard home from Washington, D.C. after reports that military personnel deployed in the capital to provide security for the inauguration of President Joe Biden had been relegated to sleeping on the floors of parking garages.

COVID-19 Testing Site for New Jerseyans Now Open at Bergen County Community College

Paramus NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today announced the opening of a COVID-19 Community-Based Testing Site at Bergen Community College in Paramus. The testing site, established in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will be staffed by the New Jersey Department of Health, the New Jersey State Police, and the New Jersey National Guard. Beginning on Friday, March 20th, the drive-thru testing center will be open seven days per week, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
