New Jersey National Guard Deployed to Assist Long-Term Care Facilities

Paramus NJ, less than one week after the Murphy Administration and  New Jersey Veterans’ Families Settle Lawsuit  for $53 million Over COVID Nursing Home Deaths , Governor Murphy announced that the New Jersey National Guard will be deploying to long-term care facilities throughout New Jersey to assist with COVID-19 response efforts and to augment facilities’ staffing. This is an extension of Joint Task Force COVID Guardian, which has provided coordinated assistance to numerous long-term care facilities since the first weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Jersey’s Travel Advisory Lifted

Newark NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today announced the lifting of New Jersey’s travel advisory, which outlined quarantine and testing recommendations for residents and visitors to the state following interstate travel. Effective immediately, the travel advisory is no longer in place for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.

New Jersey Needs to Track and Release Mental Health Statistics from Coronavirus Shutdown

Trenton NJ, Concerned with a possible “silent scythe” of mental health issues adding to the terrible toll of the coronavirus pandemic, Assemblyman Kevin Rooney called on Gov. Phil Murphy to conduct a state-wide tabulation of those with existing mental health preconditions who have lost their lives or suffered setbacks due to the nearly four-month long state shutdown.

Elective Surgeries and Invasive Procedures to Resume on May 26th

Ridgewood NJ,  Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 145, allowing elective surgeries and invasive procedures, both medical and dental, to resume on Tuesday, May 26 at 5:00 a.m. These procedures will resume according to policies that will be issued by the New Jersey Department of Health and the Division of Consumer Affairs by Monday, May 18. This order rescinds the suspension of all elective surgeries and invasive procedures performed on adults, which was instituted beginning on March 27 under Executive Order No. 109 to preserve essential equipment and health care system capacity to respond to COVID-19.
