RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Move over Yogi Bear, the Village of Ridgewood thinks it’s smarter than the average bear — and it’s got the legislation to prove it.

In a bold move sure to ruffle feathers (and maybe some fur), Ridgewood has officially banned wildlife feeding on private property, becoming the first municipality in New Jersey to take your backyard buffet off the menu. Yes, that includes bird feeders. Yes, even the cute ones. Especially the cute ones.

During Wednesday evening’s candidates’ debate, candidate for Village Council Paul Vagianos took issue with the past voting record of Candidate HyunJu Kwak with regard to her approval of funds to remediate/restore/repair flood damaged artificial turf fields at Ridgewood High School and Stevens Field on multiple occasions (Ms. Kwak was acting in her capacity as a member of the Ridgewood Board of Education).

Ridgewood Village Council Elections May 12th

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Board of Education Election and the Ridgewood Municipal Election (to elect Village Councilmembers) will both be held on the same date, May 12, 2020.  These elections will be a vote by mail election only.  Vote by mail ballots will be sent to all registered voters, with a deadline to return them to the County.  There will be two separate ballots in the envelope sent to you, one for the Board of Education and the second one for the Village Council.  The envelopes included with the ballots are postage paid.
